I would main destro warlock asap if they made RoF into a self-aura like Starfall. Call it… Immolation Aura (I despise Demon Hunter class so much, they stole so much).
Well call it Demonic Aura or something else to avoid confusion.

We had the AoE Hellfire spell for a while, which maybe they could call it Hellfire Aura or just Hellfire. It had a different mechanic, but at least there’s a potentially fitting name available.
Ohhhhh snap, that IS a good idea. A talent choice node for RoF to become Hellfire. That’s genius.
Fel lord is thematic af
And also it’s incredibly powerful in BGs
It’s intentional. They really don’t want throughput in the class tree.
I completely missed this change. The Hunter changes sort of cannibalized the patch notes for me.
I love this change, it’s the way all reticle spells should be. It worked out great with SPriests, I noticed Shaman Earthquake had a similar treatment too when playing it today.
They’re not going to be on the class side?
To be fair, Pact of Gluttony has to be one of the best capstone talents in the game.
but the current design of stacking RoF that we’ve had for a while really gets penalized if there’s any type of mob movement.
It hasn’t kept up with M+ design where we need to move move move move

There’s about 10 or so talents in the warlock class tree that are just there as place holders. We don’t actually have an amazing last node ability. Soul conduit is at best 3rd or 2nd talent not even worth it’s placement where it’s currently at.
There’s so much potential for our class tree. They can bring back dark soul, covenant abilities like decimating bolt, etc. but they opt out to using 5% shard rng…

I found it useful in towers in AV because its radius takes up the entire area and there is no place for the enemy to go.
This guy gets it.
Very strong and unique spell, just relatively niche.
I hope the new Dimensional Rift talent will actually be worth it, I loved using them in Season 3 of Dragonflight.
Enjoyed it a lot just because my character used their staff in their hand to open it. Very unique animation.
They’ve changed it from that when War Within launched. Your character now raises their hand in the air like they would when casting Rain of Fire with a new purple and green spell effect. I wish the kept the staff animation.
I heard that he won’t chase but just rush at the target and that’s it, if the mob is taken away then the rain will remain in place
If you’re talking about the that rain of fire variant that auto casts on your target, you are correct in that it will not follow the target. It just automatically casts at the target’s location and then behaves normally.
Are you serious? Whats the point of that?
I thought it meant RoF was going to follow the targeted enemy with the aoe. That’s incredibly disappointing to hear.
It just saves you from placing the targeting reticle. It’s not that big of a deal, but when you’re in spam RoF mode, it could reduce some clicks I suppose.
I tested it on the PTR. It’s not bad, but I prefer to place it manually so I doubt I will take the new talent choice.
Didn’t we also have instant HoG procs though with that too though? Or was that a tier set bonus? Cause that felt nice for sure when it happened.
Instant Hand of GulDan proc was season 1 Dragonflight.
That had a good feeling to it for sure.
I like how we cam sometimes get instant dogs. I wouldnt mind seeing something like that for Vilefiend as well.
Its cast time and lack of charge in, idk makes it wonky to use imo.
