Incidentally this is what they’re also supposed to be in D&D but they’re not treated that way because most DMs are bastards, a t4 warlock is supposed to be a valid patron of their original pact type.

My demons were originally to be sent to some prison-plane of the Legion’s called ‘Tarratus’ where they sent rebellious demons to suffer. I infiltrated the prisoner-transport vessel and provided them an ultimatum: Serve me, or suffer the wrath of Tarratus … 
They chose the wiser option. 
— Except my imp, I just offered them a taco and they were good to go.

Rather fond of my Imp — Mine spikes the wells of other warlocks healthstone fonts with vodka & moonberry juice, along with smuggling me a steady line of Felweed 
My soul is in jeopardy though. Should I opt for a safer class? One that doesn’t pull us into Tartarus when we’re no longer of use?

Nah, they’re just alien wildlife. You can hop in a spaceship, and go to the home planet of the “demons”. It’s literally no different than Hunters.
There’s no patron.
This isn’t D&D.
In D&D, Warlocks have a Patron which is more powerful than the Warlock, and the Patron gives power to the Warlock in exchange for whatever is written in your character sheet.
In WoW, Warlocks have minions which are less powerful than the Warlock, and those minions serve the Warlock in exchange for one Soul Shard per summon.
Wish my Subjugate Demons spell would get this memo, instead have to go to a Barbershop.
