Anyone notice Warlocks always have a spec that’s top tier every patch. appears they have 3 this patch. If only blizzard liked mages this much.
They have had at least 1 spec in the tops since Vanilla. Has never changed. That’s why I always lmao when locks cry about one of their specs not topping charts, yet now 2 expansions in a row mage is sitting at middle (Frost), almost bottom (Fire) and dead last/2nd to last (Arcane). But all 3 lock specs are doing quite well.
Still no announcement either about fixing any of the mage specs. Arcane still has yet gotten any real re-work. You know when what is supposed to be your best secondary stat ends up being not your best stat then there is an issue.
It’s my belief that blizz hates me personally. Also, none of them plays a mage.
LOL. Thank god I am not the only one. I love fire have played it forever. Every time I see a nerf come out it is right when I start feeling good about the spec or get the right azerite traits. I just sit back and think “blizzard what did I do to you?” “How did I hurt you?”
It’s how their specs scale and work with stats and gear, they just do really well with it all.
It’s frustrating but I’m still having a ton of fun on my mage and don’t feel the want or need to reroll anytime soon
Only sweaty nerds play warlocks so who cares
Who cares?
Why is warlock so survivable in pve while mage is disgustingly squishy and weak, unable to take down things a warrior or even a rogue can handle with ease?
Jaina and Khadgar get it easy while we, the heroes of azeroth, are weaker than a toddler with a foam mallet.
Dude, other than destro, warlocks are trash in PVP. When was the last time you saw a demo lock or affliction lock in a bg? Now when was the last time you saw a fire mage or frost mage in a bg? Don’t worry, I’ll wait.
So 2 Warlock specs are bad in a small part of the game. And 2 mage specs are bad and 1 mediocre in a large part of the game.
And I do acknowledge that PvP is still important and fun to some people, but with the disappearance of PvP servers and the lackluster participation in Warmode, you can’t argue it’s a large part of the game.
The statistics don’t lie Warlocks are at or near the top of the charts. If you are comparing the class with Mage using the numbers, Warlock is easily better. I don’t believe in nerfing, so I’d encourage Blizzard to take a hard look at the various data sources out there and begin increasing the output of the classes clearly behind.
Warlocks are not great in dungeons other than demo which lacks utility. Locks are ok in most rated pvp. Nothing spectacular.
Affliction which used to have dispel protection with unstable affliction now does 25-30k for a 5 stack. The big drain from azerite traits got nerfed 50%. Can top charts with barely meaningful and easily healed trickle damage in bgs.
Demo is ok with the imp sacrifice build in pvp but pets are easily messed with and the pets don’t switch targets other than the main one felguard.
Destruction is ok but doesn’t have much mobility and cannot cast as much on the move like a mage. Burst damage was nerfed already. Less bursty than a fire mage in pvp now with way less utility. More tanky.
Warlocks are doing better in the new raid. I admit that. There are a bunch of situations where it’s easy to use havoc to cleave. Jadefire masters for example. Traditional ae is less useful. Even grong has the ad spawn than you can use havoc on. Opulence has a more traditional ae situation and frost mages do really well.
Which has better burst fire mage or destro lock?
Was seriously looking to play one or the other moving on from my main, can’t decide which. Tried both class and specs, feel like fire is more fun, not as crazy about destro having to build up shards. Was curious which has the best burst at 120 though.
Destro does so much damage right now its insane. Our opener as fire for sure wins. That is short lived tho destro will top the charts with minimal effot.
Mage has always been a terrible class to play solo and always will be.
Warlock has always been an excellent solo-er and always will be.
Mage has historically has had at least one top tier dps spec but this time…
Well, in the words of our legendary hero, Garrosh Hellscream, “Times change”.
Just more evidence that Blizz really doesn’t care about balance. Mage get shafted all around, how about spreading that to locks for a change?
Here’s a wild idea: Stop nerfing every spec and class and buff them up to be equivalent to each other?
Hmm?
This.
Destro lock has gotten some serious love since BfA started.
I was watching the AWC spring tournament yesterday and it was unreal how many Destro Locks there were.
Surprisingly, there were 2 matches featuring Arcane mages. Most of the matches had Frost mages, but there were some Fire mages as well. I think Destro Locks took the spot Fire Mages had back at the BlizzCon AWC.
