Please just aura buff at this point, buffing abilities that suck to use is not the way.

Aura buffs are a bandaid fix. Outside of the numbers game, many of our issues are rotational.
Single target affliction is little more than a babysit spec of âhow well can you maintain dread touchâ. Harvester of Souls is a 2-point meme talent that does 0.2% of our damage.
First fix is an easy one, increase dread touch duration to 8 seconds. This gives some actual breathing room to do other things while not worrying about casting MR after every second gcd. Second is to rip out and replace harvester. Since we seem to like legion traits, bring back Compounding Horror: Agony/Corruption ticks have a 5/10% chance to make your next Unstable Affliction do X damage instantly on application, stacking up to 5 times.
Destruction has entirely lost its way. It used to be a slow generator with a massive spender payoff. Now chaos bolt doesnât even hit as hard as soul fire, and about as hard as a burn to ashes incinerate.
I donât think thereâs as simple a fix for this, but I would like to see Burn to Ashes changed to: Your Chaos Bolt consumes up to 1/2 additional soul shards to deal 100/200% increased damage.
Demo straight up needs a rework, summoning these big demons that deal damage for like ten seconds and then poof isnt exactly a master summoner. The spec needs to be able to summon demons that last for longer and are somewhat impactful over being completely reliant on teeny imps.

In fact. How about making talent choices actually affecting spells and abilities, instead of half our tree in all 3 specs being spells themselves. Might fix a lot of dps issues making actual spells baseline that we otherwise always had access to and let us choose which âtalentsâ buff which spells. Making our trees actually have more choices like the other classes got.
Shouldnât have to select MR, UA, Drain Soul, PS/VT, SL/AC, Haunt, Soul Rot, Soul Swap, Dark Glare, SoC, etc. Replace all of those with actual buffs to those abilities!
And yes, get rid of harvester at this point. Dead talent as is the other one for agony stacks based on seeds. Useless.
At this point, I want Dark Soul in place of eyeball/soulkeeper, or they should buff the hell out of the latter two. Some extra mobility would be nice too. KJC would be nice.
Having our three capstone talents being some of the old mop talents reimagined (plus something newer) would be very fitting, actually. Something like:
Kilâjaedens Cunning (passive): Moving does not cancel your next spellcast. After this ability triggers, it cannot be triggered again for 20 seconds.
Archimondeâs Vengeance (passive): Enemies suffer 5% of the damage they deal to you. After you have reflected 100% of your maximum health in damage this way, you must recover for 30 seconds before reflecting damage again.
Shadows of Sargeras (active): For the next 15 seconds, when you spend soul shards, gain 1% damage done per shard spent. This buff stacks but gaining stacks does not refresh the duration. 60 second cooldown.
After enough buffs they wont suck to use anymore.
No they still rotationally suck. If they buffed them by 900% that would still be true. Vilefiend feels like trash and a three second cast on soulfire is a cruel joke.

Honestly legion affliction was op but at least the play style was fun. MR is horrible especially when itâs your spender and your busy babysitting shadow embrace, drain soul procs, destro feels like they just gave up, may as well replace chaos bolt with soul fire and remove chaos bolt from the game. I have nothing to say about demonology until I can morph into a demon and chaos wave is back on my bars that spec is dead to me. Aura buff because they canât re work this stuff itâs too late. Or re roll shadow priest shrug.
This is exactly one of the reasons I hate playing affliction. I was fooling around with the haunt spec and my so called single target PvE âburstâ damage required this set up: Haunt, UA, agony, corruption, phantom singularity, soul rot, summon darkglare, malefic x3 and drain soul.

Four of those spells required hard casts and all of those spells had global cooldowns between them. Compare that to my sub rogue who only needs 1 or 2 swifty macros before heâs off and running with this dps burst.
It should be 14 or 16 seconds, not 8. This gives plenty of time to do mechanics in a raid setting, get back to where you need, refresh DoTs and cast MR to refresh duration as it should be.
Iâd rather they just give us scaling execute DoTs, instead. Rather than putting thats as a talent node at the bottom it should be where itâs pretty easy to get to, unless theyâre gonna get rid of Soul Rot area or Darkglare area, in which case then itâs a welcomed addition.
Dread Touch needs to also require only 2 or three malfics, not 4.
Seems silly to need 5 hard casts to qualify for its bonus. You need at least one UA and four malefic casts. Granted, one or two of those malefic casts might be instant if you are lucky. But in order for that to happen you need to be casting drain soul. So either way, you still need at least 3 hard casts and thatâs only if you are lucky.

I agree, it should be 1 cast, maybe 2 tops, and then you got it.

Nah DT needs that buff real bad. The room for error with that talent is disgusting. It should be 10 seconds but Iâll take 8 seconds though.

Really baffles me how they insist in buffing talent picks that werenât really competitive, represented a button bloat and didnât fit well in the rotation. Even afterwards, they still donât perform well enough to justify picking them.
I find it funny how they did not even try to make any interaction in, for example, Soul Fire, with the rest of the the kit. Could be a big hitter refreshed and fast-casted after a few successive Chaos Bolts. Maybe even a replacement to be used after Blasphemy ramp-ups. Would make the rotation more dynamic and interesting, in my opinion.
