While in AV last night, a warlock kept coming into TP and using a teleport spell at the flag. Everyone at the flag would get teleported to the bottom outside of the tower. What is this? Certainly that’s not working as intended when one player can teleport multiple players away from an objective.
This is genius and would be working as intended. It’s a new PvP talent called Shadow Rift.

Well now that you know about it, you can presumably avoid it, unless it doesn’t have an obvious ground animation.

I could see this working well with a frost mage putting a wall at the door to keep them out!
It has a ground animation so if you dont see it that’s on you. Also only works within 40 yards of our portal so positioning is key.
The bonds of fel is pretty cool too. I have hit someone for 20k with it, but it’s very niche. Had to give us sething since they nerfed our DPS.
The animation is pretty obvious and you have enough time to get out of it unless it’s in an enclosed space. On towers you’d be dumb not to be watching the warlock and either knock them off if they’re outside or CC/murder them if they’re inside.
I can see it being used with some other abilities like the new Shaman Static Field Totem to force players to stay in the circle at the towers/or even at other BG’s with flag caps . Would be clever use of abilities but tilting to those on the receiving end of it
It can be spell reflected to port the warlock instead

We were victim to it in two epic bgs two nights ago against a horde premade and lost both because people were too dumb to step out of the giant purple circle. Faced the same group again last night multiple times and wised up to their strat and just rode/walked around the circle. Won all the games. It is a good spell for team fights and has a lot of applications.

I have not tested it yet on my demo lock. Fel obelisk is nice though.
Wait, srs? Imagine lock tries to port 10 ppl guarding a flag and everyone except the Warr that SR gets sent, so now it’s the lock + 9 frothing mad enemies that are with him.

I randomly tuned in to maldiva’s stream and the war he was facing was reflecting his port. It seems to have a lot of really neat interactions
Going to be broken. Think of LM fights. Whatever warriors spell that you can’t leave his circle, ROF or mass engagement. Port to cliff, T storm off. EOTS same thing. Terrible ability honestly. Should make sure you can’t get knocked back after port.
This possibility already exists with grip and such but it’s more coordination than is usually displayed and more effort that most are willing to put in.

You can with one grip. When death knights had mass grip they made it so after mass script you were immune to Knocks to counter the grip Knocks. So unless they are happy with it coming back they need to put a immune with this also. In rated play normally the first team on certain maps who successfully did the first grip knock won the BG.
Didn’t know that. I only do random bgs so I always assume minimal coordination.
It does suck (from a random bgers perspective) that so many fun, unconventional and niche abilities get nerfed or removed because of coordinated competitive pvp. Makes things so linear-feeling and predictable for the sake of balance.
