i get that it’s suppose to be a copy paste of the warrior charge, but warriors and bears get into melee because their threat generators are melee ranged and they kinda have to hit stuff up close… but as a warlock tank i can open from range most of the time, and since it’s only usable out of combat, i don’t see why i would want to charge 1 enemy and stun for 1 second, when i can use 3 searing pains before the same mob reaches me from range if i wanted to build threat.
plus, its not like the charge generates resource for me like rage for bears and warriors… what am i supposed to be using that button for? just charging in and shadow cleaving? seems like a better idea to be at range and put up dots tbh
Dont even have it on my bar.
That may change if we get immo auro or an aoe threat too in p2.
I pull with incin or heavy dynamite
Not really that useful because it can’t be used in combat.
When tanking stuff, you generally want the few seconds of not taking damage that teh mob has to run to you, rather than too charge in and take damage immediately…
It’s pretty limited… mostly I use it for mobility when open world farming, but even then haunt is probably better.
Not to mention leading with incinerate is 15 seconds of 40% multiplicativy increased threat.
Dang I haven’t even been in a dungeon with a warlock tank yet… but I’ve mostly been leveling alts since I hit 25. I figured I’d see them everywhere. The charge sounded super cool.
It’s useful in PvP as an opener to be in range for drain life, but in PvE it’s very useless like previous replies have said, much better to Incinerate > Immo 2 free casts before you start getting cast pushback.
Sometimes I use the charge, but more as a ‘trying to get ahead’ sort of deal. Otherwise just pull with corruption.
I absolutely love warlock tanking, but the charge is one thing I wish was a little different. Personally would rather something akin to blink when you use it, but with the ability to return to the original spot if you use the ability again. For sake of repositioning.
In PvE it is useless. In PvP, it is useful to gain distance by charging onto mobs while chasing prey.
