Warlock Succubus attacking from Invisibility can cause mobs to start evading

It happened a bunch last night, seems like it’s worse when the servers are full.

She’ll be on the way to attack, then when she un-stealths and hits the mob, it evades the attack and my pet stops attacking it and returns to me. If I had a spell in the air it will be evaded as well.

For some reason it was really happening a lot last night. Going to have to turn off auto-cast of invis on her while I’m fighting things. Will save her mana anyhow.

This is exactly the post I had just wanted to make, too.
Just as additional info, it has not just been happening last night, at least for me it has been happening since my succubus got invisibility.
And what I would like to emphasise: If you cast at the same time as she attacks or shortly afterwards, your spell(s) get evaded, too!

I believe the issue is with how the server updates her invisibility: The succubus is invisible, attacks and breaks invisibility at the same time (it looks as if she even is attacking while still invisible), the server does not update that she also becomes visible immediately, so an “untargetable” enemy is attacking the npc, causing it to evade.

Yeah this seems likely.

I wonder if these mis-timed events are also the same reason behind how hunters are complaining of different behavior of feign.

Same with Rogue vanish. I’m assuming some Blizz dev got lazy and decided not to refactor the priority or execution order of functions.

Example:
If Succ invis is still set to True after she attacks out of invis and the target goes to target what just attacks it, sees the succ, checks the bool to see if she’s invis to react, sees invis, assumes bug, falls back to evade (fallbacks are necessary to reset/re-initialize), reset, leash to zone, end evade.

The succ should be flipping her bool before she attacks, regardless if she lands or not.

That’s my guess. Just like how Rogue vanish doesn’t drop combat right away, might be stuck in a batch or routed in a way that doesn’t make sense thanks to changes in the modern client.

I feel the whole batching thing is a mess and got A LOT more being pushed through it than was originally. Everything feels like a mess to do in this game.
