Why can a warlock only use Healthstone once in duels and arenas, even though depending on the build, it may be their only way to heal? I know there’s a 1-minute cooldown for reusing it in open world, but that doesn’t apply in arenas and duels, where it’s limited to one use. Even a Retribution Paladin can use Bubble and Lay on Hands as many times as they can during the match
It goes on CD once you drop combat
It’s just how our healing is balanced. You can blame raiding. They struggled to balance healthstones as a consumable for so long. This is where we landed.
The strange thing is having so many other classes that are absurdly strong, which have survived much longer, especially in 1v1 situations, and we have to choose between healing or dealing damage
They really overnerfed mortal coil self healing.
Mortal coil used to provide a 20% heal dating back to cataclysm, but now it’s only 10% every 45secs in pvp as of patch 10.1
Soul link also is nerfed in pvp to only 5% damage reduction since 10.1 which is why most warlocks prefer to sac their pet in pvp.
Meanwhile you have several melee classes getting 25% heals every 30secs with greater then 10% or more damage reduction.
I really wish blizz would undo these nerfs especially soul link to encourage more warlocks to play with pets in pvp.
Game isn’t balanced around 1v1 though
Also warlocks are very good right now.
The problem with that it takes legit UP TO 15 seconds out of combat for the CD to finally start ticking. It’s quite hard to get out of combat in arenas in the first place, but keeping it that way for up to 15s is just ridiculous.
I haven’t had that issue. Sounds more like a bug
Yeah theres some weird lag with healthstone cd once youre out of combat. Ive done mythics + runs where we kill a group mount up and it takes a few secs for healthstone cd to start runnijg it doesnt automatically start immediately out of combat,
Warlocks in general seem to be the primary focus target in just about any given melee lobby.
Fel armor used to help with this in all past expansions by giving an increased healing effect dating back to it’s original iteration, but that doesn’t exist in Dragonflight and I think this needs to be looked at. We have no damage immunities and unreliable walls/snares and weak self heals compared to other casters classes. Healers in many cases aren’t able to keep heals up even through walls.
For previous expansions dating back to TBC, fel armor or demon armor depending on which expansion you go with used to give a passive 20% increased healing or 24% if talented. This really needs to come back to help make up for the indefinite zug zug we encounter in arenas as healers aren’t able to keep up in many scenarios with melee sitting on warlocks especially with MS mechanics involved. Healer interrupts/cc are hardly needed to score fast kills on warlocks.
TBC tooltip - Fel Armor - Surrounds the caster with fel energy, increasing the amount of health generated through spells and effects by 20% and increasing spell damage by up to 50. Only one type of Armor spell can be active on the Warlock at any time. Lasts 30 min.
Soul link is currently nerfed to giving 5% damage redirected to the pet in pvp and that’s even assuming the warlock is playing with a pet which the vast majority opt out of doing because they die so fast. Soul link needs to get buffed in pvp to help give choice options between more damage versus more survivability/utility.
Self heals and passive damage reduction are significantly higher for many other dps classes and some of those actually have much better reliable walls and immunities.
