Warlock pet dispel macro unreliable

Anyone else running into this? My partner has a macro specifically to imp dispel me, but sometimes it self casts even when it's not on auto mode and it's literally target=fox.

The latest iteration that I'm having him try is:

/cast [target=Fox][@player,dead,harm] Singe

Hoping that since it will specify to target him only when he's dead or only when he's a harmful target, that it will just cut it off and not self cast in those situations... but not 100% sure it will end up working.

Anyone else ran into this issue?
I've had no luck with macros on this since BFA. I've heard summoning imp twice but I've yet to try it.
umm are you sure pet disspell is turned off? like there is no glowy thing going around the spell?

It's an issue with command demon spell and pet spell literally having the same exact name. It's a known issue but Blizz doesn't fix these things quickly. We just have to play into Cupid with our healer on focus and targeting him.

Best you could probably do is /target then a /cast macro. Not ideal but better than nothing.

That wasn't working reliably either sadly.

100%. That was the first thing we asked him, and he isn't a noob by any stretch of the imagination.
Also fox i think its Singe Magic not just singe

Wasn't the exact macro. Pretty sure I got the correct name when i sent him the actual macro I typed up... though the first iteration of that macro had a period instead of a comma, breaking it initially. ><

Unless you have any outside the box suggestions I assure you that I have tried all the "is it plugged in?" suggestions so far.
dunno had this prob with my warlock at the start of the season, his prob was it was jsut truned on, after we figured that out then it was fine, try dumbing your macro down

/cast [target=fox] Singe Magic

That's literally what we started with, and it was still self casting... but the weird part is, it only self casted in arena. Out in world, it always worked 100% of the time, but in arena, it is strangely doing the self cast crap.
I felt liek me and my lock had that prob at teh start of bfa but we fixed it, idk wht we did it was at the start of the season

/cast [@fox] Singe Magic?

Tried that as well. >< Even resorted to some oldschool crap:

/target Fox
/cast singed magic
/targetlastenemy

Still ended up running into the same issues. It 100% costs us games that would otherwise be a cakewalk.
use the imp spell book singe magic not the one from the warlock spell book. It won't work in a macro but it will still be targetable.

That's what we're going to do as a last resort... but that's a really crummy last resort
><
you could try a mouseover macro
I would suggest using my all in one pet macros instead of making macros for each individual pet ability.(Imp is a little !@#$% btw. The dispel range is super short but I don't have the problem you mentioned)

This one I have bound to A, Shift A and Ctrl A. Covering devour magic, axe toss, seduction, consuming shadows and singe magic. (A=party1 dispel, Shift A=party2 dispel and Ctrl A=player dispel)

Have you ran into any issues with it? Imp dispel is important enough to play around its limited range, just need to make sure it actually works, ya know? Having the ability to remove every freezing trap off of the healer is sooo clutch, especially for a mistweaver.

I'll have my partner check out your macros. Appreciate the help! =)

Most of the time when I think dispel is not working it turns out that the imp is cced, out of range, los, flat out dead or stuck somewhere. Damn imp gets stuck everywhere.
Have they tried unsummoning and resummoning the imp during the prep period before every match (after all talent selections are done)?

Could it be some sort of LOS/range issue?

Happening too often for that to be the case.

No, but we were wanting him to try that. And no for the LoS issue.
