I can’t decide what to play for shadowlands i love both specs, any advice would be great, or if you have another main suggestion that would be great too!
Warlocks: I think Warlocks are fun and fancy. Plus, you can summon people and make healthstones out of thin air! They also get a battle rez, which is fabulous.
Warriors: Warriors are fine. They stand there and hit.
But I vote Warlock!! ![]()
What content are you looking to do?
And are you open to tanking?
For the first one, Warlocks are looking extremely strong on all fronts in Shadowlands. Even if we’re not S Tier, we’re more than consistently A tier, and while we sucked in BFA M+, with the changes to Destruction and Affliction (especially Aff), the main gap in our toolkit, our slow-ramping AoE is basically non-existent, and while it’s still beta, we’re more than keeping up with the big boys in a M+ situation.
The second one is pretty straightforward. If you’re not open to tanking, then you’re making the choice between a melee DPS and a ranged DPS, and ranged DPS are consistently in more demand in raids, and looking to be much better in M+ with the new affixes.
Do yourself a favor and unless you like tanking, play anything but warrior. I don’t mean you’ll be forced to tank, I mean warrior gameplay is bad.
My issue with Warlocks is that they’re the least mobile ranged dps. A lot of their utility comes from what they give other people, which is odd for a thematically selfish class.
Warriors have excellent mobility, on the other hand. Probably the second best out of the melee dps.
Warlocks get the sickest mogs. You can’t change my mind.
Both are actually pretty viable and fun to play in their own right. They have decent mobility, especially with warlocks getting demonic teleport back.
But I’d say warlock if you’d want the easier route, warriors tend to be a bit wonky at times.
Nonsense.
I’ve found Fury warrior to be very fun to play, it’s one of the few specializations that rewards you for playing skillfully and proactively.
Arms on the other hand is the exact opposite, it’s more laid back but it’s fun because it’s a slow rotation but pays off with beefy damage with a single attack.
Prot is bad though, don’t do that until Blizzard decides to stop hating it.
It’s all just opinion at the end of the day though, but if I were to choose, I’d go with warrior.
can’t go wrong with warlock, very good quality of life and expected outcomes even into next expansion
Interesting name OP
Play Warrior. Classes that cannot heal or tank are second class citizens in the era of Raider io
Cookie dispenser
Everything is viable.
Fury is very well designed and very enjoyable. But it doesn’t really reward “good play”. There’s no min/max potential.
Arms doesn’t have a big attack, and it actually rewards optimized play more.
Prot is not bad, and blizzard does not “hate” any spec.
I begin giggling as I look at survival hunter and feral druid.
Why. They’re viable.
Obviously Warrior, no bias here
Warrior. Warrior has more interesting options from covenants in my opinion as well as more returning abilities that benefit all specs in my opinion.
Warlock is also a good option and they are looking to be doing quite well on release of SL.
Ultimately it comes down to whether you prefer to play melee or ranged, and whther the ability to tank sounds like something you might be interested in.
Wow, warlock and warrior are really really different…
If you’ve played both plenty already and really enjoy them both I’d say go for warlock because you can do more as a warlock, if you’re a really really good warlock.
Warlocks are a richer complicated class. They have more tricks.
Warriors are simple, straight forward no nonsense melee Physical Damage, and tanking. If you want tank and simpler gameplay go warrior.
They both have “War” in the name so I can understand your dilemma with choosing between them. All jokes aside though, you should play what you feel is more fun. Each offer very different play styles, so be sure to factor that into your decision.
Neither of those are specs…
