Warlock or Elemental Shaman WPVP/BGS

I know I’m making both but can’t decide what to main as I’ll realistically only have time to gear one. How does each class play in wpvp and bgs?

As for my race choices
Warlock- orc for sure

Ele Shaman- Can’t decide orc for the kamehameha spell animation and stun resist or tauren for warstomp combo and being huge

P.S. I know ele isn’t raid viable so I’m fine healing when need be.

Warlock is the overall better choice.

Honestly, elemental is extremely fun to play. The huge burst with low CD (3 mins) is awesome.

In WPvP and Alterac, I can’t explain how much fun I had casting Chain Lightning into an instant Chain Lightning. But finding the right gear for elemental is painful. You will actually need to hunt for green gear with +nature damage and correct stats for the first phases (leather, cloth or mail).
And engineering is a must for WPvP. But if you get good enough, you can easily 1v2 or even 1v3 with an elemental shamans

Warlock are still the kings though, especially end game. But more common and it is honestly not as fun as doing big burst damage.

As few ppl already stated warlock will be better choice.

personal reason is a shaman still has room for more theory crafting, gear may take longer after you figure it out, higher learning curve, and most likely be a healer to attain gear.

Lock has been theory craft the blank out of for PvP and gear still hard to come by but less amount of time figuring out what u want or need.

I know a Paladin is the strongest melee dps. It will take a minimum of 8 to 10 months to get it there. I assume the same for a shaman that is only going to BWL type gear. You will need to be heals to get such gear. Professions would be two gold sink professions. So you would have to have an alt to farm for those professions. Paladin share similarities in some ways that’s why I use a Paladin reference.

A lock is cheaper in long run and only needs one gold sink profession.

Shaman and Paladin would need 3 different type weapons sets. One is a boe which cost about 600 to 1200 gold. For instant cast.

Which is better shaman but at what cost.
It would be slightly better but take longer to attain.

Elemental shaman is one of the few hybrid class specs that has a t2.5 set that actually gives some pretty nice set benefits for the spec. There is some super legit gear for them including some non-set mail from Naxx.

And of course the burst of an elemental shaman is legendary. It’s probably only surpassed by a POM pyro mage, but an elemental shaman is better than that overall because they’re much more consistent than a POM pyro mage. Plus they also have healing.

Then there’s the warlock. They’re just awesome as well.

I guess it comes down to how you want to play. Do you want to be able to heal and have super high burst? Shaman. Do you want to have possibly the best CC in the game and be one of the best 1v1 classes and also never run out of mana? Warlock.

Also, one thing to consider is shamans will be in very high demand for raiding; more so than warlocks. So if you really can’t decide that may sway your decision. Just keep in mind you’ll probably be expected to heal.

Warlock for the Seduce-Curse of Elements-Soulfire lulz.

They are both equally important in large Wpvp battles. Warlocks can dot and curse healers putting on significant pressure and really wear down players, while shamans provide utility, heals, and as you said massive burst damage to act as artillery and to secure kills.

Both are quite fun.

Elemental shaman, because world pvp + water walking = attacking people on water.

Warlocks are pretty slow so WPVP ill say shaman over them.

Plus chain lightning in WPVP/BG is unique.

If I wasn’t rolling alliance I’d make a shaman.
