Warlock Minion Broken, please help!

Hi, I have a level 10 Warlock. Her minion stopped functioning properly. Nothing I click on can return her to her proper function. Anyone know how to fix a broken Minion?

The imp or voidwalker? You gotta teach the pets spells from the demon trainer. Also the imp cant attack if it has no mana. Its a spellcaster mob that doesnt melee.

Oh your minion has a mind of its own?

Right click on her abilities.

Careful, you could be next. What, did you assume you could always enslave these beings? It’s not like a hunter that tames an animal with love and earns it’s loyalty by caring for it and feeding it. Eventually all slaves will rebel against their oppressors.

My classic character carries the Silent Fang sword from Scholo with the demonslaying enchant just in case they turn on me. It makes for a bit of fun RP.

/petattack

Make a macro, turn on Auto-cast for it’s abilities (they’ll marquee when on)

We need more specific data, imp/voidwalker? Have you bought grimores for your pet?

Imp. Yes, I am aware of mana and imps. My imp has mana. The imp no longer functions. It behaves as if it is stuck in passive mode. I can manually make it fire a firebolt, but I have to make it do this and it stops after one firebolt. In the beginning, it fired continuously. Now, stuck on passive. I have several warlocks, this is the only iteration in which the imp became broke. I understand this has happened to other folks.

Sounds like you disabled autocast for the firebolt spell.

Pet abilities that are set to autocast will have a rotating glowy border around the ability icon. You can right-click on the icon to toggle autocast mode.

I have definitely tried that multiple times. It has not worked. Alas.

dont put your pet on passive. If you put your pet on passive you have to manually use each spell. Just click on the firebolt till its sparkly that means its autocast and put on defensive. If you want your imp to attack before you do use pet attack you can keybind it to any key you want. Its in the keybinding menu. Make sure all your imp and pet abilities are on the pet actionbar. Ive accidentally dragged them off the bar. You can drag them back from the pet spellbook.

It only takes a single right-click to change the status. If you look at the ability (Firebolt) on the pet-action-bar, does it have the glowing ring or not? If it does not, do a single right-click. Now does it have a glowing ring?

Do you have keybinds for the pet action bar or are you manually clicking the buttons?

Have you loaded any addons? (Specifically ones that might use macros to, for example, say cool things when you summon or use abilities.)

she said she had her pet on passive. Pets dont attack unless you tell them to regardless if the pet spells are on autocast.

Actually, they said it was acting like it was stuck on passive, not that they had put it on passive:

I was focusing more on the response to:

Wherein they said:

So I wanted to be clear that they weren’t right-clicking the abilities multiple times, which would turn on and off the autocast repeatedly.

When an imp is Passive and the warlock uses Pet-Attack, it will normally keep casting. Clicking either Follow or Passive after telling it to use Firebolt will stop it, so a possibility is one of those is being triggered. (I don’t think Phase Shift applies while in combat, but haven’t tried.)

Thus the questions about keybinds and addons. If something in the setup for this warlock is behind-the-scenes activating things, odd results can happen.

Pretty sure OP just taught their imp phase shift.

If you want it to attack, turn that ability off or use firebolt manually.

Always keep your pet on passive. Use /petattack and /petfollow macro. Only two you ever need.
