[Warlock] Metamorphosis

When switching to [Metamorphosis] as a Demo lock… my main bar doesn’t change so I can use the skills in the form?

Is this normal? I find it unusual that all other “shapeshift forms” in the game do a bar swap so you can load a new bar with the skills of the form?

can anyone else comment on this? has it always been this way?

I do remember having an action bar swap but not sure if that was in wrath or cata/later expansion.

Honestly I don’t mind and actually prefer not to have a separate bar because you only really use charge and immolation aura which aren’t too hard to introduce into your keybinds / mod macros.

No need for a whole new action bar for just 2 spells.

There was an action bar and there is a total of 4 abilities, it was hardcoded in during 2009 and on pservers

It should function the same as Rogue’s shadowdance, or priest shadow form…it’s still not fixed as of nov 14 2022, 2 and half months after release

You have to use a bartender addon to add the bar in…very sad on Blizzards part.

I don’t recall anything hardcoded like this in 2009 and private servers are not to be trusted.

Either way, it is 4 abilities and you can macro them into your existing bar very easily using the conditional [form:1]

having the bar as intended would be better, I have every macroed and still run out of room, especially in pvp, warlock is one of those classes that have a large amount of skills, every slot slot is taken even with modifier macros, and raiding as demo, it would be a qol change, I also dugged up some of my warlock footage from 2009, it gave an extra bar, like Rogues shadow dance (which is only couple abilities used as well.

In the meantime bartender does add the correct bar so i’m using that for now.

I main Warlock.

There is not a functional difference between macroing your abilities to change using [form:1]

Like I even do stuff like

/use [nomounted] Drain Soul
/target [mounted] Time-Lost Proto Drake

If you just macro your bar using [form:1] it will change like you want it to and you get to pick and choose each ability very precisely.

Another example, I use the same button for popping into Meta as the Demon Charge, like so:

#showtooltip
/use [form:1] Demon Charge;Metamorphosis

It will always show me Demon Charge while I’m in Metamorphosis, an ability I can’t use unless I’m already in that form, and saves an entire button.

If it’s for serious PvP concerns you’ll want everything independently macroed regardless, as it’s not like you’re going to be replacing Fear with Demonic Howl or something (but that’s actually kinda useful in PvE).
