Warlock main weapon - staff or dagger?

hi, im low level lock, which main hand should i buy, staff or dagger? thx

It hardly matters at that level. Learn staves, daggers and swords and swap in whatever the best item you have at the time. Pre-40 this will almost always be Staves, then in SM you can pick up a Dagger + Offhand combo that will last you until 60 where you will swap again between Staff and Dagger/Sword depending on what items you have and which is the strongest.

Whatever combination provides you the highest spell hit, spell damage, shadow damage, or int/stamina, in that order. Not sure where spell crit falls in that list, but I doubt you’ll see much of that (or hit) on weapons before max level.

Staves and MH/OH are nothing more than stat sticks. Your damage isn’t gunna scale enough to waste gold on spell damage items, especially at lower levels. Focus on int and Stam to increase survivability and minimize downtime.

The most important thing while leveling is keep your wand up to date. If you can find a group for BFD do it asap, you won’t replace that wand until you hit the mid 30’s. Quest is on the beach by the instance iirc

Thanks! Just googled it, bfd wand is the Gravestone scepter? I’ll lfg as soon as I reach that level :slight_smile:

If you truly need an answer, STAFF.

But you likely have a staff and a dagger and a sword and an offhand. Use what gives you the best stats (lots of Eagle gear).

If you’re that concerned about weapon skills, reroll a Warrior.

Also prioritize Stam over int. Remember, as a lock Health=mana

   I dont like to stress the fact that the warlock rocks, but he jus does,So, for all you staff users out there, feel free to come in and post, my staff is a good one, but here is how it goes
    1. post message in the room
    2. LOOK IT OVER
    3. dont report anything, i might get in trouble :)
    and 4. Have fun!!!

Warlocks use staves… This is the way.
