i’ve only played warlock post cata and i’ve only really used my felguard. what pet would an aff or demo lock use to level? i’ve read the blueberry sucks really early into leveling. so imagine you’d doing some sort of tanking with your character and draining a lot? which pet would be best for that?
The Forever Warlock is not the Classic Warlock. The Voidwalker does a solid job of holding threat. You will need to purchase Demonic Grimoire from the demon trainers next to the warlock trainers to level up their spells. Make sure to update the spell ranks on your bars and always double check the active demon’s ability ranks.
We will obviously have to evaluate the Voidwalker’s threat management capability in earnest starting November 4th.

okay. thanks! i’m sure there will be guides later on that will explain what pets to use at end game but it’s nice i’ll have a tank pet to level! warlock is obv my main in retail and i want to level one right away in forever. i don’t have beta access atm but i’m following this forum atm.
Use the Void when you need a tank and the Succubus most of the rest. She cranks. Situationally the Felhunter is also good but the imp is garbage.

Undead Warlock has always been my main so I had to try out the talent updates in Forever. I imagine at endgame we’ll be using Felhunter/Imp.

is that true for all 3 specs? i main demo in retail and am mostly wanting to play demo in forever. but obv there’s no felguard as the default pet in forever.
I’m still very sad that they removed the olden days Imp’s smack talking.

My guess looking at the talents endgame Demo would want to sac the imp and use the Succubus.
i’ll probably use the incubus then as soon as i can figure out how to do that in classic. XD that model is just too funny.
The Demo rework in war within and into Midnight is the best the spec has ever felt to play! <3

yeah i love it. demo is by far my favorite spec in the game! aff and destro are fun too obv and they both feel decent to play. but demo is my love.

The quests are available for the Incubus as well. I always do the Undercity quests for them because I love the idea of tearing out righteous and noble hearts. The Undercity quests are considerably more difficult than the Orgrimmar quests. If you’re playing on Hardcore 100% do the Orgrimmar quests.

Yes, the succubus even at level 20 does at least 25% of your damage from the Warlocks I’ve seen. And she scales with spell power, so that should stay high. I’m not sure Affliction or Destro would take Demo Sac now, given she hits harder than the bonus would give. Demo would because he can ALSO sac the imp.
You are correct, Demo would do that to START a fight; sac imp summon succy cast shadowbolts and whatever dots make sense. At 35%, you sac the succubus, feldom an imp, and then you start weaving Searing Pain (take the talent that lowers threat) into Soulfire/Immolate/Conflag with 2.6 second cast and 6 second cooldown on the Soulfire (no shard cost), and then Searing Pain/Immolate/Conflag filler. You’ll be doing 25% increased fire damage on all four spells, and the Soulfires really truck. Crit damage modifer is 100% from 5/5 Ruin, so 200% crits. 3/31/17.
It’s not efficient, and you give up range and pushback protection. But man that execute phase looks sweet.
