Warlock Customization Options for Dragonflight

Now that the Alpha has been out for a few days, I figured it was a good time to make some suggestions regarding what I’d like to see in the next expansion. There are two main fields I’d like to discuss: Demons and spell effects.

For Demons, my big thing is updating the graphics on some of our demon choices, specifically the Glyph ones. I would love to use the Fel Imp for instance, but I think the last time it received a graphics update was possibly Cata or even Wotlk. I believe the Shivarra and Wrathguard also need updates as well, but I don’t summon those ones enough to be sure. Going along with that, I think it would be cool to introduce some glyph options for our cooldown demons, such as bringing back the Abyssal glyph for Infernals on Destro.

The second thing I’d like to see is some glyphs to customize spell effects. For Destro specifically, you do have the ability to switch between red and green fire, but what if you added that to Chaos Bolt? Having an orange Chaos Bolt would be pretty beat, and it would make your spells all one color. Think of it as a reverse Codex of Xerrath. And going even further, what about a questline to unlock purple fire, or “Shadowflame”? Another neat option that would go well with our class aesthetic, I think.

Anyway, what do you all think? Maybe someone in the council would be cool enough to bring this up in their forum

At first I thought “uh oh, warlock asking for something? This can’t be good.” But this is just spell effects look and glyphs so I support this.

Shameless Monday bump

How shameful!!

On a serious note, i like the ideas you have for more glyphs and class customization. I say: dont stop at warlocks.

Every class could have cool stuff we just need them to be made.

Im interested in seeing what inscription will look like when it gets tested. Hopefully we see more class customizations baked in as glyphs.

I agree, you could seriously open the floodgates with different spell customizations for all classes. Inscription could be a very profitable profession if they went nuts with glyphs.

Sorta tangenitally related, but covenants could have come with customizations to specific spells or abilities instead of player power. That was the biggest miss with covenants, I think.

Warlocks should be able to enslave wild demons. It’s lore friendly and it eliminates having a ton of glyphs.

I agree. :+1:
More variety of demons that can be summoned would be awesome.
After you enslave the demon you can call upon that demon at anytime.
Especially having the option for more tank pets beside the Voidwalker would be very much appreciated.

I like this idea! Maybe instead of pet families, you could group different demons into the types of attackers they are. For example, you have your spellcasters, which all have Imp abilites, your tanks, which all have Voidwalker abilities, do the same thing for Felhunter, Sayaad, and Felguard for Demo. That would be a fun flavor item for Locks

The glyph system is criminally underutilized throughout the game and sadly I don’t see that changing any time soon.
