With my warlock I have since the start of classic a problem with channeling. Do I something wrong or is it a bug that is not repairable? Like rain of fire its very annoying lots of mana gone for ticking only 3 secs…
Monsters hitting you will make it go down, I’m pretty sure.
100% this. It lasts full duration of not being attacked.
spell pushback my dude. unless you have a bubble on you mobs hitting you will knock the spell back and waste your time/mana which is why mages get far away before channeling blizzard
Arcane explosion and cone of cold are huge advantages for mages over locks when it comes to aoe. Mages can continue to AoE even if they have a couple mobs on them. As soon as a warlock gets aggro their aoe potential is destroyed.
Thank you for the response
Any channeled spell can be interrupted, reducing the “up” time.
There is a talent in the destruction tree that you can take to reduce the chance that hits will increase cast-time of AOE and Soulfire by 70% I think it is.
That being said, it’s only useful to AOE in a group with a warlock, solo if you want to fight multiple mobs, dots are more efficient for us.
When you get to 60 you can make a Soul Link/Intensity aoe tanking build and use Hellfire with multiple Voidwalker shields. Having a priest along is good as well as another poster said. Leveling you should have Affliction until at least Siphon Life with a mix of Demo.
I found a way to do enough aoe to clear the scorpions up to the enchanting trainer in Uldaman.
- Send voidwalker
- Start channeling aoe, wait til first dmg tick.
- Hit suffering (voidwalker aoe taunt) you can get 2 more ticks in
- When the mobs go back to attack you sacrifice voidwalker to gain shield.
Normally the mobs are dead before they break the bubble.
If they’re not maybe you’re doing a pack that’s too hard, only tried the scorpions so far
