I’m just curious as to how warlocks are in 2s? My main is a hpally but was looking at a caster alt for fun. I’m not looking to achieve high ratings, just the ability to win enough games so I can cap conquest. I haven’t played since MoP so I’m not particularly good, lol.

Yeah exactly. If you go in try harding youll end up angry, if you go in having fun and just laugh when you get globaled, youll have a fun time no prob.
You should never die in openers as a Lock right now if you have close to 200 ilevel. They’re tanky, have gate, and TP. Affliction and Destro are straight busted. Especially once they get Renowned 22, it’s going to be insane.
If you’re dying in openers it’s a L2P issue. You’re renowned 9, have no verse. You’re also playing Demo so you’re clearly the issue.

Lock are not Tanky. That is the first time I have ever heard them described as Tanky this entire expansion. There is nothing Tanky about a lock.
That is why (unless you play with a havok demon hunter) you are almost always the kill target. Port, Gateway, Soulshape, die unless you have a babysitter.
To the op, some practical advice that should help up to about 1500. To not die in expected strong openers, at times in 2s I have used Voidwalker Sac, Battlemasters, Dark Pact, Unending Resolve, Health Stone macro. They still burn through the 50k health and 26k shield but it certainly makes a huge difference.
You don’t even have to trinket the orginal CC on you during their burst.
But then it is Port, Gateway, SoulShape if you have it, die.
Literally any other class you can team with will do better than warlock.
I’m not ‘good’ admittedly but I got to 1400 super easily. Going to push for 1600 and see how my winrate looks from there. I’ve been running destro lock with Shadowburn, Demon Skin, and Roaring Blaze talents. If you run with a stealth class, like a feral druid or sub rogue, everybody is going to blow their load on you. If you can live through the burst, esp with Howl, you can usually win. My strat is basically just get gate and portal up ASAP, and then bait people. I’ve won about 60-65% of my matches using this strat so far, so we’ll see how far it takes me.

Just wait until every team you queue into has either a paladin/rogue or both. It makes 1600+ feel like a 2k push

Don’t worry about that poster. You are doing well in arena. 1400 isn’t easy at the start of the season. Just keep pushing.
I’m 1700 on my 168 ilevel warlock. I’ve played lock since Wrath and can say they’re honestly one of the strongest classes right now. I don’t main it anymore because I heal on Rdruid and Rsham because I got sick of looking for a healer all the time.
Can you post with the warlock you are PvPing with? Might help some undergeared locks to see your talents.
