Since were moving to a no restriction type thing, can we atleast make this available to one handed specs/classes, at the very least to warrior and rogues who actually used them back in TBC. Definetly kinda stupid that these weapons which were orgionally made for Rogues/Warriors arent even mogable, i get DH wanting to have something unique but comeon its been 15+ years, i still have them in my bank and its sad that i dont even have the option to mog them but everyone got to have Thunderfury/Sulfuron/Thoridal, whats the logic behind that?
You answered your own question. Its a unique thing for dhs that are actually the underlings of illidan. Back then there were no dhs. Now they exist so they get to xmog their most iconic weapon. The other legendaries you mentioned were never tied to a class. The warglaives are
That being said, warriors are meant to also be âweapon-mastersâ â being able to use all manner of weapons. Itâs a tad weird they canât use warglaives.
â Also raises the question @ why various kingdoms have warglaives in the first-place that drop or are gifted, when thereâs only two races that can be Demon Hunters.
I mean donât even get me started on Night elf warriors â Not being able to use their ancestral weapons.
Sure why not. Also an HD remake of them. The original glaives have terrible textures these days.
Its a perk of being a dh. If blizzard wanted others to use them they could have made all warglaives a 1h sword and be done with it. But dhs get to have their iconic weapon type and the most iconic of them all from their boss.
The perk of being a DH isnât just their wep. Itâs iconic sure, but itâs not what makes a demon hunter a demon hunter. That being said, them putting a weapon into a particular category isnât really much of a big deal either.
Also on the note of âiconicâ the warglaives as weapons have long been iconic weapons elves in general, but especially Night Elves â Arguebly moreso than they have for Demon Hunters.
Nothing screams dh more than their weapon, also Nightelves can use glaives now, the ones from their heritage armor. Thats the glaives they been using since w3.
I wish more restrictions existed due to class race fantasy and Im glad this one is still in place.
Akin to what Ironman says to Spiderman about his suit â If theyâre nothing without their iconic weapon they shouldnât have it, or they shouldnât be allowed to use other weapons then.
Personally I feel not allowing warriors to use warglaives goes against class fantasy more than for it. âHereâs the legendary warrior, master of all weapons! ⌠But they donât know how to use a warglaive. Despite it being iconically used by them in lore, and utilised in the past ⌠Ye.â
The only genre it seems to match, is fitting in with the FFXIV genre of each class having a unique weapon and absolutely no other class can use it.
They can though.
If you do the heritage armor questline you get 1-h sword versions of the warglaives.
Thatâs not all versions though (save except Artifact weapons, those are understandable).
They also werenât the only elves to ever use warglaives either.
Agreed. I get why they want to open everything up for gameplay, but class and race fantasy is what breaths life to the world and its lore.
I mean come on⌠Lightforged Warlocks, really?
As a paladin main forever I died everytime blizzard madeup a new race combo and it just chips away at the core class fantasy that the game was built upon. People cry homogenization and then proceed to request all races to be all classes, they ask for armor restrictions on transmog to be removed and so on. The whole âeveryone can be and wear whatever they wantâ is just so damaging to the rpg element of the game.
Itâs funny, I have the actual Warglaives of Azzinoth (both of them) in my DHâs inventory, yet I canât use them for Transmog since I didnât do Timewalking Black Temple yet.
/sigh
As a Rogue I just want the option to transmog daggers into other weapon types.
