Warglaives Are Too Limiting

I think that Warglaives of Azzinoth should be an unlockable appearance for all the classes that can equip them. I find it silly as a DH main to get handed Illidan’s warglaives and the other classes, specifically rogues, get stripped of their BC class identity. They were able to use it. Why can’t they transmog with the new legendary transmogrification feature? It’s very silly to me.

Another issue with warglaives is that they’re demon hunter exclusive. They should absolutely be able to be equipped by hunters, monks, rogues, and warriors. I find it silly that specifically the Sentinel’s Moonglave, a very hunter/sentinel weapon identity, is demon hunter exclusive.

That’s just my opinion folks. What do you think? Do you think demon hunters should have an exclusive weapon type and transmog? Why or why not?

Yes I agree :100:

I think my rogue that earned them during TBC should be able to transmog them.

Agreed! I remember getting ganked by rogues with them all the time as a little noob in BC Tarren Mill on Ner’zhul. Let rogues gank in style dammit!

I won’t lose any sleep if they give others access to the Warglaives.

(I’d prefer them to be with us Demon Hunters though. )

For fun reasons I hope our forum DH gnome can though!

Eh let them have it. It’s a weapon from 13 years ago. Besides, wielding warglaives is part of the class identity. Seriously though, when I think DH all that comes to mind is metamorphosis and warglaives.

Yes I understand that other classes were able to equip them during BC, but them introducing DH as a class and making that their weapon changed it all.

Also think about it this way, DH are very limited as far as what they can use as transmog for weapons. I’m pretty sure it’s only warglaives and 1h sword. While every other class that was able to use the Warglaives of Azzinoth has many other options for transmog than DH.

To be fair we do have a huge array of weapons to choose from glaives, fist weapons, 1h sword and 1h axes.

I hardly count fist weapons because there have been so few impressive looking ones. But I did forget about 1h axes

I think warrior should be able to use all physical melee weapons. I understand why they removed the ranged weapon slot, but warriors are supposed to be the masters of weapons (imo).

Yes they are known to be masters of all physical weapons, but wielding warglaibes is something that only DH are taught to do and they probably wouldn’t go around teaching others how to use them.

We can see some night elf warrior npc’s with a warglaive in a single hand. I think it could be a good idea.

I have 3 rogues that have both warglaives. I unlocked the appearance for my demon hunter by tanking BT on a druid. My demon hunter was not required to play any part in the process and did not.

They have always been iconic to rogues. I remember seeing a 70 twink rogue with warglaives in a bg and was awed.

If you had the patience and luck to farm up both glaives, you should 100% be able to transmog them. Warglaives aren’t even a demon hunter thing.

They’re a night elf thing that Illidan, as a night elf, also happened to use. This nuance was eventually lost :man_shrugging:

The fact that Blizzard made an entire new weapon category for one class is ridiculous

While I agree with your suggestion this isn’t correct, he didn’t use glaives prior to being a. dH.

He used a staff or often nothing at all (art depictions).

Sentinels and wardens also used glaves in WC3. Illidan used a stave because he was a druid in training. Glaves are a night elf thing.

That’s better. Night elf thing for sure. Also now I miss WC3.

Yess! Though ultimately this might seem like a compromise for you and me, both ideas would be extra effort in terms of development.

Yes, glaives are a Night Elf weapon. Warglaives however aren’t.

Agreed. The Warlgaives of Azzinoth should be usable by the classes that can equip them.
