Wardens as the next new class in Midnight

Title says it all. Putting aside all the Tinker talk, one of the most likely classes in my view is Wardens in 12.0 (Midnight). They fit the theme (Elves and Shadow), there’s lore that Maiev is expanding the ranks of Wardens after Dragonflight, and Blizzard put out a 2 Warden-based armor sets that were called “Sun Warden” and “Moon Warden”, which indicates to me that they’re giving Blood Elves the ability to be Wardens.

Wardens are extremely popular (if the armor promotion from the trading post was any indication), have distinct armor, weapons, and an entire set of open abilities. They could easily slot into either Mail or Plate armor, and offer a new tank or support spec for players.

You mean that hunter hero spec? No thanks. Im good with it being a hero spec.

That would be Sentinel, which is more based on Priestess of the Moon. I’m talking about Wardens.

That’s Sentinel.

Truth be told I kind of wish Warden was a Rogue Hero Spec.

I don’t think Midnight, which is set in Quel’thalas, is going to have that much of a night elf focus. Doubt we’d get a 3rd night elf class in an expansion not focused on them. If we get an elf class it’ll be based on blood elves or void elves.

Well Metzen did say that Midnight would be focused on uniting the Elven tribes. Maiev spreading Wardens throughout the other Elven groups would be a form of that unification.

Also the Warden trade post armor set kind of hinted at Blood Elves getting Wardens as well.

Also another elf only class. The hardest pass ever lol.

An elf-focused expansion requires an elf class.

Depends on how unique a Warden class can become. Which becomes harder when considering Demon Hunters are exactly similar. :robot::thought_balloon:

edit: Still encourage you to figure out some details. :memo::robot:

Aside from a couple of statues in the secrets of Azeroth underneath Karazhan, The only two times we ever dealt with the wardens were at the end of burning crusade and during Legion. Outside of that, they haven’t even made an appearance at the anniversary event. at least not that I’ve seen. I can’t imagine they would pull out this very random class just for midnight.

Thalassian elves - blood elves, high elves and void elves. Not night elves.

What about Spirit of Vengeance, Warden’s Cage, Containment Disc, Shadow Strike, Umbral Bind, etc?

They did bring out this in Dragonflight;

And we had Maiev at the end of Dragonflight stating that she was going to expand the ranks of Wardens.

The next class should be available to all races. DH are limited to 2 races Dracthyr have a unique class and Earthen are a unique-ish race that can be multiple classes.

Yeah, elves already have DH all to themselves. And have the most race choices. I would have zero interest in Wardens.

I agree. Something like the original classes where different races have different takes on the class, but it’s all the same mechanically.

Could do it like monks, but I really don’t like that panda monk lore wiped out all the pre-MoP monk lore for other races.

I highly doubt they’ll add another elf exclusive class.
