Warden Set

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but the Warden set looks ridiculous on non-night elves. Why was this not race locked. It is literally one of the most iconic sets for a portion of their culture.

Considering the tauren back totems were race locked, this should have been too.

The 1 year long achievement could have very easily been replaced with something else. There are plenty of things that were datamined that would have been worthy. For example, the glowing blue peacock mount.

Obviously it is too late to change it, I just felt like starting the New Year with a rant.

i’ll be the judge of that come March! Granted i could always dressing room it or wuteva. i plan on using on some Blood Elves, so at least i’m keepin it in the knife-ear fam

Easy answer is that they weren’t gonna do special set for however many races there are.

It just means we need to wait for a belf themed set for everyone to mog. :smirk: Then we’ll be balanced.

I’m curious how the warden pieces would mix with the warden tabard for the dracthyr and mechagnomes. :thinking:

If it was race locked than I don’t think it should’ve been a reward for 12 months. 12 month rewards should be stuff all races can use. Race locked items should just be in the TP so those that want them can buy them and those that don’t can skip them.

I mean. Maiev uses the blood elf model in BC. I dunno if it was changed to make her correct in Legion, but she was basically just a big blood elf wearing the warden mog. You know because when she roars at Illidan during the encounter, it’s the blood elf animation. Same deal with her whacking him during BC. So, theoretically, it was always meant for blood elves O_O!

I would agree with this… but it should be race locked to night elves only.

Im not even a night elf, nor do i main them. I just prefer things to make sense.

Many races have ridiculous transmog. mechgnomes, forsaken, both tauren, dracthyr, worgen.

I find it a little confusing that they take a firm stance on totem transmog being Tauren only, then turn around and give everyone a warden outfit.

Wardens were more than night elf only. They were night elf female only. Even more iconic and specific than the tauren’s totem weapon.

The totems weren’t the month reward, or year transmog in this case. They were rewards you had to personally choose among many other rewards.

While I’m definitely a supporter of allied races and other races that have bee neglected similarly getting more love in the cosmetics department, the hold up with some people here is that it’s the Warden set, Wardens who, to my knowledge, are exclusively female night elves. Given what it’s a reward for (12 months of filling the Adventurer’s Journal for the Trading Post) it would be really, really dumb of them to race lock it, because who wants a year’s time of doing something to be rewarded with somethimg they can only use on a race they don’t play. I can definitely see both side of the argument on whether it should be race locked.
