Warcrimes Penalty

Now that the Alliance faction feels encouraged (most likely from opportunity PvP players - faction hoping) to participate in World PvP. The game needs some sort of Warcrimes penalty to progress World PvP toward balance, in keeping with the theme of the expansion, and away from kitty sandbox game play.

Specifically things to address -

  1. Game play balance between Many vs solo/few
  2. Protection of the low level and ilvl verses endless 340+ players
  3. Method to generate basic level of manners - penalties

Turn it off if you don’t want to get killed … very simple

How does this address stimulating World PvP? The more structured World PvP is made, the more people will engage.

Ppl are engaging well enough …

WM possibly in the best situation since start of BFA. Now both alliance and horde are complaining of ganking . And that’s the way it should be , WPvP is supposed to be cruel.

Hopefully you got Slayer out of that, unless you already had it.

Absolutely, war crimes and all!

You’ll have fun with the title next time there’s an assault and you don’t feel like forming a group.

Edit: speaking of war crimes, here’s a RP story about me committing war crimes just after I got Slayer:

I’m pretty sure Blizzard is fine with war crimes, at least for this xpac.

It’s exactly the opposite. The more structured Wpvp is made, the more similar to instanced pvp it will become.

What makes Wpvp special is how much freedom we have within it. It needs to stay that way.

In my opinion, all they need to do is remove any form of gear scaling. That in itself will balance things out as far as outnumbering goes. Currently, it’s a hopeless situation for anyone in a 3v1 or a 4v1, which is something everyone complains about, both Horde and Alliance. If you’re better geared than those 4 players, you’ll have the advantage and that’s how it should work, that’s how it’s always worked in past expansions too.

There should be nothing in place to help between ilvl. If someone doesn’t put in as much time as someone else into their character, they shouldn’t be on equal footing. Lowbie ganking is pathetic, so if they want to put a system in place to punish or prevent a player from ganking a lowbie, fine, but it’s not exactly needed.

Find a group if you’re undergeared. Do world quests. Do LFR. Do Low keys. Spam M0’s. etc the ilvl scaling is there for a reason getting gear isn’t hard there’s absolutely no reason to have penalties with how insanely easy it is to get gear.

Regarding ganking those of lower level. It’s part of the game. It’s part of having WM engaged. It’s part of the flavor period we all went through it if you see a max level running around either get out of the area move on to another quest or take the risk. This game is getting progressively worse because people had their feelings hurt or something happened they can’t seem to deal with on their own.

Interesting ideas. Still will not engage in wpvp. I have never liked wpvp all that much and now I loathe it.

Still, your ideas are…tempting. What you’re suggesting sounds a lot like DHKs back in Vanilla. I don’t remember much about DHKs, or anything really, but it did seem to discourage players from killing quest npcs and such.

I never expect more from the enemy. My refusal to engage in hordemode is my contribution in a way as I deny them kills. Don’t die for your faction. That’s what the horde should do.

If World PvP is fantastic, why is it struggling? Open sandbox free for all isn’t fun for many. The forums are rife with default suggestion to just turn WM off. And you know what, it only hurts World PvP. Blizzard had to bribe the Alliance faction with +30% world quest bonus just to have a showing. Now you have raging Alliance mobs out in the world wanting payback. Then what, Blizzard gives Horde +40% or something else because now they’re not engaging? Even so, I’m willing to bet that those who engage in it are just PvP opportunist regardless of faction.

Since the theme of this expansion is about the Battle for Azeroth. Warcrimes have been part of the story but not engaged in PvP setting, of which would be perfect for to expand upon and breath life into the game. I’m willing to bet that if a person, regardless of faction, could become an Outlaw of their faction, who could be attacked and attack back, people would find that fun and interesting. And of course, you could get back in the good grace of your faction. The idea would be to slow down (not stop) the lack manners, if you will, in a free for all open world pvp. With a few extra rules.

no turn it off or co carebear some place else

its not struggling the reason for balance prob is ez more pvpers play horde more pvers play ally and the fact is pve players are just not as good as pvp players

Can you facepalm harder, please? I have a suggestion for anyone who says - Turn off WM; how about come up with a new response. Cause saying that world pvp is fine; that nothing needs to be done, MUST CLEARLY be benefiting from 1 sided fights. No not fights, FARMING.
