Warcraftpets not updating?

I tried to update my collection after catching a few 8.2 pets and now it says I only have 2 unique pets and 1 at max level.
I keep trying to reimport pets but nothing changes.
Anyone know what causes this?

Don’t know the problem, but it looks like all the rankings type websites are affected. Blizz probably messed with something to do with our collections in whatever magic goes on under the hood that these sites use to display the info, and they haven’t figured out what Blizz has done yet.

Hmm so it’s not just me.

According to a post I read about this on warcraftpets, the trigger for the problem is the new 8.2 quests. If you reload your data using a different character that isn’t eligible to go to Nazjatar yet, it will probably show that alt with your account-wide data (like pets or mounts), but it will still have problems importing character-specific data (like professions’ recipes) from your main and adding it to your total-across-all-characters info.

It worked on an alt but when I switch back to my main and update it goes back to 2 pets.

Same thing happened to me. My main has 2 pets, my alt got the right count. Scared me for a sec, cause I’m checking at work during lunch. I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon.

When I saw that yesterday, my pet count going from over 1k down to 2 pets, it scared me enough to log on and make sure I wasn’t hacked and my pets were still there.

I  my lil’ pets.

We’re aware of the issue - our lead web developer submitted a report to Blizzard earlier this week. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any response or update.

There was an API outage for WoW during or shortly after 8.2 was released, which might be related or the cause of the profile error.

Try using this workaround to update your WarcraftPets collection:

  1. Log onto your main toon (refreshes your collection)
  2. Log out of the game completely
  3. Go to WarcraftPets and change the toon you import from to another character (if you have one) that’s above level 10, you have NOT logged into post-8.2, and has NOT picked up or done any quests for Nazjatar and Mechagon
  4. Attempt re-importing

The above workaround seems to work for most people, but it’s not a 100% guarantee.

Apologies for the inconvenience; it’s the best we can do for now. Hopefully Blizzard addresses the API issue on their end soon. :worried:

Thank you! this worked for me

In the tab contact them…its says this now…“We are aware of an issue which is making pet collections import with major errors (such as showing only a few pets). The issue is in Blizzard’s API and they must correct it on their end before our import will work properly again. Please be patient… a fix should come within a few days.”

The workaround works. Was sad when I went to update as normal with my new pets and after update went from 1065 to 2 pets.

So using the workaround I used a level 20 character I made but had NOT logged onto and played after 8.2, did the reimport pets and voila updated me to my new number 1078. Very happy

That didn’t work for me …sigh…

I don’t know if its fixed yet or if this is just a temporary respite, but some sites like dataforazeroth and wow-pets are both working at importing stuff again. I’d try going to whatever your favourite site is and manually updating your characters to see if your data shows up properly again.

Blizzard has fixed the issue affecting battle pet collection imports. You can use your main character to update your WarcraftPets profile once again. If you come across any errors while importing, please report it. Thanks!
