Warcraft Youtube Experts: Real or Fake?

I have been playing Wow for years. My friends and I have children and even grandchildren that play Wow. Sometimes we all get together and chat about many things which include gaming in general as well as World of Warcraft. Some of our group have a good understanding of the game mechanics involved in Wow as well as many other types of games. But non of us can claim to be a Wow Expert. We are just average gamers, just people who play games for fun and entertainment.

But when I go to youtube I see many Youtubers who come across as self-professed Wow/Gaming Experts.
In many cases they go off talking about intricate minutia and mathematical equations regarding stats and every other aspect of Wow to a point that I have no idea what they are talking about?

Who are these Expert Wow Youtubers and how did they get so much information about Wow that it gets to the point that I feel like I am listening to a professor talking about quantum physics.

Do these people have university degrees in game-theory and advanced mathematics? Does Wow or the gaming studios provide these people with game information packages? Are they paid by game developers to produce game guides on Youtube?

Or are they just average players spouting nonsense?

There are some people that live for numbers. Seeing number go up is a big dopamine hit, and some people know the best way to make number go up no matter what number that is.

It’s just what some people like and specialize in, I wouldn’t say the average player is that and it’s okay to not be that

They definitely have an above average understanding, but most of the top people are on the class-specific discords or pushing the highest keys and don’t bother making youtube videos.

There will always be theory crafters and numbers guys who are outside of normal people’s understanding. They chew up the base info and spit out what can be understood by the “experts” who then spit it out in ways that normal people can understand.

It’s my perception that these youtubers, along with most all the other youtubers, are spouting important sounding stuff in order to get hits and get monetized. If enough people view their stuff, it becomes ‘true’ or, at least, true enough.

Kind of makes you wonder if they’d have cured cancer by now if they weren’t crunchin’ all them numbers.

They are people who don’t have jobs saying anything they can to get people to watch so they can get some pennies from youtube. Most of them don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.

There are some who seem to know what their talking about, I guess, because to me it sounds like a lot of theory crafting. One thing to keep in mind is when was the video posted. Since a lot of information that might be beneficial on one date might be totally irrelevant a few days, weeks, months, or years later due to updates and expansion changes.

Do they really,I don’t ever see them giving any percentages.if they did more like they are fake. Op, everyone on youtube would claim to be an expert just to get the subs, but more likely ,they are experts of nothing.

In almost every game you play, there will always be a handful of people who view learning every in and out the game has is part of the metagame.
