VorpX can turn WoW into VR by emulating a 3D monitor for your VR Headset.

It isn’t that simple… it does it by running a custom direct X and won’t work/ trigger warden.
There isn’t a way to play on vr on any official wow server

I just simplified what it does. WoW supports 3D monitors.

Wows anti cheat software. While vr is harmless what you have to do to enable it would allow more malicious code.

I dont know why anyone would ever want to play WoW in VR.
Just zoom into 1st person view and you can easily see how horrible the game would be from that perspective
And I definitely dont think it would be possible to actually do any mechanics that way since it would be difficult to see the effect areas

In VR the characters look like tiny action figurine on a table and you’re looking over them.
I know I’m not the only one who tried VorpX 5 years ago. It’s nice to see the models in this format, but not really playable outside of exploration. The UI doesn’t render in “3d”.

Would that really be considered “VR” in the way the term is generally used…or just using goggles as a monitor?

Also, out of all the things to VR, scardey cat me would be having a stroke trying that in a war game! Maybe I’ll VR hello kitty or something, I’m not paying to see fireballs and meteors coming at my body!

There is actual 3d perspective effect. It’s not like looking at a flat monitor inside goggles.
A bit like a 3D movie. You can’t move in the space by moving your head like true VR, and “walk” in the world. You’re still locked in your characters position.
I’ve never been able to describe VR, It’s something that need to be experienced.

When I retire, I’m building a dedicated flight sim rig with a VR headset for visuals. That would be awesome. Install Orbiter, and fly my Delta Glider to and from orbit until I actually get good at it…
Not sure I want to play WoW that way, though.
