Obviously, Blizzard is set on making these awful changes for a litany of reasons and it has been made clear that we can expect these changes to continue and that none of them are likely to be rolled back.
Since, however, these changes involve the removal of existing assets (Garrosh’s voiced line to Sylvanas, Kael’thas’ original voice actor, the infamous painting, removed /flirts and other voiced emotes, etc.), it seems like it would be a fairly trivial matter to compile said assets and then configure them into an addon - one that restores the game we love by reverting it into the game we remember.
Is it possible to do this, and to alter the quest names and dialog client-side so that only the person playing experiences the old content while everyone else without the addon sees & hears the replaced assets instead?
If someone were able to pull this off, I’d download the addon immediately, donate to the creator, and never look back.

I’d reason it would probably get removed tbh.
The nude patch has been broken and revamped hundreds of times and it’s still going strong. I don’t think this argument is sound. Unless there’s a technical limitation, I’m pretty sure this could be a huge thing.
No. Replacing visual assets will get you an instant ban due to the many ways it could be abused.

Again, the nude patch replaces all underwear models with nude models that Blizzard didn’t even draw. It’s client-side only and half of Moon Guard uses it. You can go download it yourself. I know dozens of people who are using the nude patch right now and who have never had any trouble from Blizzard whatsoever.
Then sure, go make whatever mod you want.
Just be aware that it violates ToS and will get your account burned if you get caught.

You can do voice overs with addons but you’ll get banned for altering game files.
Seriously though, quit the game if these tiny changes have you so worked up. It’s not healthy to keep torturing yourself by not being able to fart at the opposing faction.

I already have, but my subscription is active for a while still.
These “tiny” changes have legitimately made the game no longer fun for me. It’s like watching South Park if it aired on CBN.
Yeah, if only Blizzard not only banned you, it also denounces you for copyright sues.
It could be a very accepted option for people with a true conscience and good perspective and not that snowflakes that takes offense at everything and nothing.

I would love to find out definitively if this is a problem considering that it wouldn’t be replacing the content with anything fan-created, but simply “rolling back” versions to a more desirable iteration.

This won’t exist, modding isn’t allowed. There are a lot of things that add-ons can do, maybe even one that could fix emotes since it’s a chat feature, but there will be no legal addon that turns the fruit back into the woman.
