One of the projects announced earlier this year… the WoW mobile MMO in development has been canceled.
Thoughts?
Personally I don’t really care because I don’t play mobile games and in thankful for the collecting community saving them from terrible cross-overs.
I had not heard of this WoW mobile MMO set in another time period on Azeroth. But if they would have enabled PC cross-play like they did with D:I, I probably would have checked it out.
Never heard of it and like others said, maybe a false leak. I don’t recall them posting jobs about that either like they have with all of the games including any new ones.
Not sad to hear it go, but I am surprised. Love or hate it DI is apparently just raking in tons of cash so dunno why they would scrap a WoW version. But it would probably be for the best to never have to suffer it.
From my understanding NetEase MMOs are rarely worth playing, even those that aren’t mobile, so I’m not really surprised.
I’m not against the idea of a Warcraft mobile game… something like Genshin Impact which is a quasi-desktop single player game with online features that also runs on phones, but set in the Warcraft universe could be pretty cool as long as the cash shop features are relatively unintrusive and the pay2win aspect has a fairly low cap.
Only if there is enough whales to compete with each other. Read an article that a whale who spent a tremendous amount of money can’t PvP because he paid all the money to deck out his character and now his matchmaking takes forever and some days he doesn’t get any matches at all.
Even if they fix this so that the whales get in lower rated matches all it will do is drive away regular players who are getting curb stomped by the whales.
