December 21st: “When are we getting fresh servers?”
I think they should rephrase it, that it’s the uncertainty that’s keep players away.
…we have a future, but we don’t know what it will be.
For all we know they could dump us on Retail for the 2nd chapter of the Souls Saga thing, which could feature Runes [of power] that grant classes new things. - Obviously SoD’s runes would be all but scrapped, but the system would be there.
Or they do something stupid and up SoD to TBC era; replace a few runes (ie Avenger’s Shield rune now just makes it instant cast; in TBC it had a cast time so you couldn’t use it while tanking - you don’t dodge, block, or parry while casting…plus there’s the risk of interrupts). - And ya, I get it might sound cool. But we’re just redoing the same expansions with some new abilities and not getting any real new content, on the level of a new Retail expansion (ie new zones, new classes, system revamps, etc).
why does everyone keep wanting SOD into TBC, whats next SOD wrath, SOD cata, SOD Mists of pandaria, they will do the same thing they are doing with era.
SOD was always MEANT as a fresh version of classic nothing more. Like sure we can bring in some more systems from those expansions but i really dont want to do what era is doing with going to cata then mists of pandaria SOD then so on and so fourth.
The hope is by the Time SoD is done with Wrath they have a real Classic + ready. The Release of fresh shows that isn’t happening in 3-5 years tho.
They didnt say there were shutting down the server after Naxx or new content. I hope that by that time… they come to their senses and use SOD as a test for other stuff… give us 3 month seasonal new stuff.
They know exactly what they are going to do. These decisions are not made last minute, they just do not want to tell the playerbase to minimize backlash.
Remember when they announced they were going to merge the servers, and refused to answer any questions. Then did the change last minute with no time for feedback. That’s the game plan bud.

But they already mention that SOD wasnt getting shut down. Char’s arent getting deleted.
Doesn’t mean they wont Transfer the characters to Era, and delete all the items that were added in SoD.

We don’t know. Because they won’t tell us the decision they made.

Cuz they have no idea what the hell is going on. They are being pulled in all directions.
But, I am willing to bet (and im not a betting man) that moving them to Era will not be it.
They 100% know exactly what they are going to do. This stuff isn’t done last minute, it takes months of planning for even regular patch’s bud.
Nah, the way they started SOD is not the way its ending. They have no idea. lol
If you had told me that the same 5 devs would be working on all versions of wow. I wouldn’t have been as excited for SOD as I was.
You should really make a sign saying doom to all. You sound like one of those nut cases honestly.

So don’t go spreading doomer information so soon.

The people who wanted to try SoD already tried it and will either play through to Naxx or have/will quit before then.
