Warcraft 5e Races: A project I'm working on

So I’m trying to homebrew a bunch of Warcraft races for 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, and I’ve been working on some subraces for each of the core races (I’ll be saying race a lot in this post, I’m sorry) but I can’t figure out some for a few.

Either there are too many to really do (like trolls) or to few that it doesn’t feel like there’s enough (like humans). I also don’t know about abilities to give some of them. So I’m bringing it to the public! I have below the races and subraces I’ve figured out, with the ones I don’t have yet left blank. If you’ve got recommendations for a subrace, tell me what you think is best and what kind of racials they’d have. I hope to have 2-4 subraces each at most. Pick a subrace and suggest features to give it, or suggest a subrace some.

Humans: Drust Kul Tiran
Dwarves: Bronzebeard, Wildhammer, Dark Iron.
Night Elves: Darnassian Elf, High Elf, Black Moon Elf.
Gnomes: Mechagon Gnomes, Leper Gnomes, Mechagnomes.
Draenei: Standard Draenei, Broken, Lightforged, Eredar(Not decided on this one).
Worgen: —
Pandaren: —
Orcs: Green orcs, Mag’har.
Undead: Human Undead, Elvish Undead.
Tauren: Bloodhoof, Highmountains.
Troll: Darkspear, Zandalari (WAY TOO MANY HERE)
Blood Elf: Blood Elf, High Elf, Void Elf, San’layn(Like Eredar, undecided if they’ll become a playable race)
Goblin: Goblin, Hobgoblin.
Nightborne: —
Vulpera: —

There’s the list for y’all! All the races and available subraces I have. Any recommendations for traits I can give them is helpful. As a quick example, I will show you what I have for Night Elves so far:

Ability Score Increase: Known as legendary combatants by even the orcs, Night Elves represent a wild power beyond description. They gain +2 to dexterity.

Quickness: As a reaction you can take the dash or disengage action. This feature can be used once per rest.

Shadowmeld: Slip into the shadows as a bonus action, becoming untargetable and hidden. Noticing a Shadowmelded Night Elf is a DC20 perception check. Moving, being moved, or attacking breaks this spell. This feature can be used once per short rest.

Perfect Darkvision: Can see in Dark Light as though it were Bright Light.

Worgen: Gilnean Worgen, Feral Worgen, Kaldorei Worgen
Pandaren: Mainland Pandaren, Shen-zin Su Pandaren, Island Tribe Pandaren
Vulpera: Dunewalker Vulpera, Seafarer Vulpera

Nightborne would probably make more sense as a night elf subrace.

For trolls, I’d give them forest trolls at the very least, since there are some in the Horde. Maybe even sand trolls and ice trolls to complete the set of major troll subraces (with Darkspear being renamed to the more generic Jungle Troll).

On the evil races, D&D 5e supplies rules for playing things like goblins and Drow, so I don’t see why Eredar and San’layn couldn’t be playable. They wouldn’t fit in a conventional adventuring party, but people do enjoy playing evil campaigns.

Hmm, good points. I also like including seafarer vulpera >:) Very clever. The one point I don’t quite see are Kaldorei Worgen as we’ve not seen any of them actually become sapient again. Though I will think of it. Thanks for your contribution

In the Curse of the Worgen comics, we see the original ringleader of the Druids of the Scythe who is still quite lucid (albeit not a very nice person). See his Wowpedia entry:

Additionally, there are some feral Kaldorei Worgen that have their minds restored by the druid PC using the Scythe of Elune (they’re all around Val’sharah, and you get an option to use the Scythe on them to get some flavor text and a bit of AP).

Ahh, Curse of the Worgen. What a wild time. Thank you for pointing these out! I’d love to make them.
