With the Warbands system, many old achievements which were timegated in some way, or had some step that was easy to do once per alt, is now very easy, since all characters can make progress on it.
Some old raid achievements required several weeks of doing the raid. But many of these achievements, like “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” can now be done within a SINGLE week on multiple alts.
You’re honestly complaining about years old achievements now being done much quicker? I spent several resets back in WoD trying to do an achievement in Throne of Thunder to kill all of the named cultist guys before Animus. I never finished it because it was so tedious to do. I logged in this morning and finally got it. Lot of those achievements aren’t even skill based. They’re time based. I can understand your argument if maybe something like the mage tower was suddenly made easier, but an achievement that’s like 15 years old? Really?
You’re really complaining about the ICC mount being easier to obtain? Who honestly cares? The frostwyrms have wonky animations anyway with the way the wings go through the body. It looks hideous compared to modern mounts. I haven’t seen anyone use them in years and that was even before Shadowlands. There are better mounts. I haven’t even seen any DKs use their class hall frostwyrm. It’s just an achievement and a mount for the mount count anymore. Why gate something that’s well over a decade old?
Can we not bump this thread? I don’t want devs to believe they should change this. Account wide everything is the best thing in TWW, thank you blizz for warbands
Nah there was only a 7 min difference between last poster and I.
Get this: Darkmoon Prize tickets are now account-wide, which turns a bare minimum of a four month grind into something that you can complete in just two hours on August 4th.
It’s going to be interesting to see how they handle this with rep.
If they want it to take a month to reach some level, and now you can get credit towards that goal from every alt, are they going to let us finish quicker or move the goal post?
Outside of AotC demands in the PUG world, I have not once had someone flex an achievement on me or flexed an achievement on someone else. Achievements are just things I like to do and collect to feel like I “beat” the game in some kind of way.
I feel like the logical evolution should be that the player is recognized as an active participant in their characters adventure. In most cases, it’s one person controlling their characters or account.
Gold, Crafting, Achievements, banking and maybe a few others should be moved to the account level.
