I have always played Horde, mostly because all of my charchters, which means gold, alt gear, and some titles were tied to the faction. Warbands is supposed to be account wide “everything”. Does that mean that I can move gold and gear between factions? Also, will reputation track between factions?
ALL your toons will now be your warband. Which is awesome, IMO.
From what we know so far, mostly Yes.
There will be exceptions for faction-specific reputations or faction-locked items. Like, for example, city reputations will obviously NOT be cross-faction.
They did address a question about competing reputations. The specific example was Scryers vs Aldor where they said those will also be an exception tied to the specific character and not in the Warband.
Also note that when the system does release, they plan to only have it work for TWW factions and maybe DF factions. They do want it to retroactively apply to older expansion factions, but those will be in later patches as they’re able to implement them.
As for gold and gear… maybe? They did say they’ll be implementing a new type of Binding called “Bound to Warband Until Equipped” that lets you place gear into your Warband bank that can then be use by any alt in the Warband.
You can already move gold and BoA/BoE gear cross faction on the same server IIRC.
BoP gear is remaining BoP.
From what I understand, the nature of BoP is changing to basically a combination of BoA and BoE: Warbound until Equipped. So it binds to your account on pickup, then soulbinds on equip. I don’t know if this will apply retroactively or just to items introduced in the expansion, however.
