I don’t even see the appeal in it myself.
When I play one of my characters… I’d rather be the one in control of them. If Brann’s AI is anything to go by they got WAYS to go and he has less abilities than classes/specs.

I go “hmm” all the time when I mean no but don’t have the heart just to say it to the person just yet.
This was not advertised, so I’m not sure where you got that expectation.
OP got it from this thing called Copium.
Some people think it would ruin the multiplayer aspect of the game when in reality other MMOs are starting to do this precise thing. SWTOR and ESO have companions systems like this. In ESO I think you can actually solo most dungeons with your companion. It’s just the super hard content that is done with groups.
Personally, a lot of players have ruined the co-op aspect of games with abuse when a party member screws up. I’d rather just do a dungeon with AI to be honest. Even in some of these threads with condesending comments just further cements why I have no desire to play with other people.
Agreed, I have alts on standby when doing legacy content.
Before the existence of Warbands, mog farming was brutal. Now I get my hand on a tier piece then it’s off to the WB bank for one of my classes to use it on.
Pretty sure they will open up follower dungeons to your own characters. No way they haven’t thought of this but when played they basically do preset behavior for the spec template wise despite what they are specialized in talent wise.
A lot of people wished this would happen, but you are the first who has said they thought it would.
The question on my mind is what comes next. “Warband updates” continue to appear on the roadmap but it’s not clear to me what new work is being put in that bucket.
I gather new login background screens are coming soon? Did I hear that correctly? Anything else announced?
It was lead to believe Warbands would get more updates and features over time as something that’s evergreen. Backgrounds, followers, dungeon helpers etc. There was quite a bit that was theorized, and I’d like to see it implemented faster.
I believe they confirmed in the most recent WoWCast, about the Warcamps. Having additional screens, being able to group multiple camps, etc.
I am quite sure warbands will get additional updates. They have barely been out
Aittle early to think they are never getting another update ever
I would just level 5 prot paladins and be good to go for anythign I wanted.
Lol the trailer had Dance Studios and ‘Path of the Titans’ progression, both of which never made it in. In addition to WG aerial combat.
Also, the Vanilla box art, had a Night Elf Demon Hunter on the back of it lol.
Still waiting on the dance studio so all my characters can do the forsaken dance. Any day now.
All I wanted was to learn the Tauren peanut-butter-jelly dance on my gnome lol.
Also, the troll male dance on any other race would be downright hiliarous.
Perhaps you’ll be able to assign your own toons to assist in dungeons as NPC’s. IDK, seems possible.
I’d like them to not rush out features that fundamentally break the game.
Expectation is the death of a good surprise.
You get an xp bonus for every lvl 80 you have in your warband. You share Rep, a lot of currencies, and they even added the Bound to Warband equipment modifier so you can gear your alts with 590+ veteran gear. You share a warband bank which allows crafting and sharing reagents straight from the bank to crafting screens.
I lol’d when I read your rando expectations about what warbands would be. I don’t know where anyone develops expectations like that, but disappointment is a self-inflicted wound.
Could it be more? Of course, and it will be over time. Right now I’m pretty satisfied with it, as it’s an improvement over what was before.
