Warband Warbanks are Temporarily Disabled

Daily check in…still broken?

When does temporary become permanent?

I checked about an hour ago and still down.

It’s now monday but it’s only 3 am pacific time. Most employees won’t be at there desks for a few more hours and it probably won’t befixed until tuesday. I do wish they’d at least say “We have a fix scheduled for tuesday” or “We’re working on a fix but no eta”

that’s not what a bug is.

(nor have i heard anything about them wanting to change this, but if you’ve got a source, i’m sure a few people would like to take a look)

it operates the same way across all legacy content.
you can’t unlock class specific appearances with a different class.

gear tokens are warband bound.
you throw them in the bank, and remove them on a class which can learn them.

ETA = Soon™

Maybe after TWW launches?

Does the issue you found look like a bug or a design flaw?

(I guess that’s hard to tell without speculating deeply about the details of how things are implemented, just wondering if it’s something “fixable” or if it is forcing a major review of the entire feature)

They have had a week of going home, resting, come back with fresh eyes and perspectives and what got fixed? NOTHING. Instead, they are focused on unions. If they cannot do their jobs they should be fired…not unionizing.

oh no…mine’s not ‘disabled’…
it’s just being used by
another of my characters…
that’s the message you guys
encoded…always as if we’re doing
something wrong…
maybe come down off your high horses.
you fielded a mess…admit to that, and
there’ potential.

And warband banks are only ONE problem.

Achievement progress for many achievements has been stripped away and cross realm trading is broken.

This patch should have been reverted instead of released. Delay the launch of it until you have a solution. But no. They had to shove the crap down our throats and with every passing day it becomes more difficult to revert the patch because most of you kept playing the game and accomplishing things that would need to be reset if they reverted everything to a functional backup.

Think Dance Studio

Full roll back would be the best solution. But yes players would be upset that their progress would be reset.

Yet on Beta the only server that is up is the go to 11 server with no character copy. The other servers where the copied characters were at is GONE.

ok?

what’s that got to do with the price of lint on mars?

Calm down buddy, did you expect rolling out an entire account-wide system was going to go flawlessly on WoW’s ancient code with millions of people having upward of 50 characters each to merge together?

I agree whole heatedly with you, but I gave up trying to get these people with a self entitlement issues to settle down, as it is useless, people are going to whine and complain as they always do. They all seem to think something like what Blizzard just did was easy to do and it has to be 100% or the hard work these people have already put into this game is for not and the masses feel the need to grab their pitch forks and torches and siege the castle unfortunately.

Also for those that will flame me for what I just said just know before hand I say, Yeah yeah yeah, blah, blah, blah, thats all I’ll read I’m sorry I don’t bow to the “I want a Umpa Loompa now” mentality.

I don’t doubt that Warbands were hard work. Messing with code that was never meant to be messed with can and will have unintended consequences.

However, with how easily the Warbank feature apparently broke (along with other things), it is very, very clear that things weren’t tested as thoroughly as they should have been, and as usual many bugs were seemingly ignored months in advance.

So, while I sympathize with the devs because some people won’t be happy no matter what they do, they need to do better. I pay for their product; therefore, I am entitled to complain when things go pear-shaped.

Dragonflight was especially bad in this regard. Yeah, the game has always had bugs that lasted for weeks, months or even years, but for me they were infinitely more annoying to deal with this expansion. It’s like the QA department doesn’t exist anymore or something.

As of right now, I’m hesitant about how things will go in TWW. They are not off to a great start. I hope they prove me wrong, but I’m expecting things to be far worse quality-wise than DF ever was.

That’s the point of unionizing, makes it harder to be fired.

Just something that needs an if check on it. Not a huge deal unless they don’t get to it in time.

What would you call it then?

They said something along the lines of that they could only get the tier tokens to work. This implies that they tried to get it to work for the raw pieces but failed do to some coding issue. It seems logical they’d then be inclined to fix it. How much of a a priority that is, is questionable.

I don’t have a source on hand and don’t feel like digging for it either so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Still there is no logial reason from a design standpoint to purposefully allow tier tokens be warbound but not tier peices.

Which mostly impacts tier from classic and legion.

ETA equals estimated time of arival.

That is not the point of unionizing lol.

Unionizing is used as a way to gain power when it comes to negotiation work conditions, and pay.

They timed it perfectly too. By having a patch full of bugs released and an expansion on the way they had a ton of leverage for a union contract. Because the cost of retraining people and delaying a product and the loss of revenue from a.substandard product far outweighs the cost of agreeing to union negotiations.

Now depending on how good their union is (negotiations for stock options, severance packages, firing procedures) will tell us if it was worth it.
