Was browsing the topic on wowhead and had a question.
In regard to members of the warband, are they interchangeable? Can I swap in new characters or are they locked once I decide who I am going to use?
I ask because I have a lot of various currencies spread across many guys, so I would like to use this system to consolidate it to one.
My understanding is that all of your characters will share the same Warband bank. Unless I’m wrong about that.
And I believe you can swap your characters out, and that we’ll also eventually be able to make more Warbands?
I might be more confused about this than I thought.
Warband is just Blizzard’s term for “account-wide”. Every character on your B Net account will be part of the Warband and have access to the same Warband bank system.
The only thing you choose are your four “favorites” who will stand around the campfire on the Character Select screen. It’s purely cosmetic.
EDIT: the only restriction is that Warbands will be Region locked. So, NA vs EU vs China, etc.
The login screen shows your four favorite characters. I would suspect you can change who your favorites are.
If you’re not in the Beta, you can always install the 11 Prepatch PTR and test this concept.

Showing your four chosen “warband” characters is a visual-only thing for the login screen.
ALL of your characters are in the same warband and share the warband bank.
Pretty sure it is just for the look of the loading screen and you can swap whenever you want. Everyone on your entire battle.net account as long as they are in the same region is in your warband. The 4 you pick are just the favorites that show on the load screen.
Blizzard really shot themselves in the foot by showcasing the login screen with the Warband panel, it caused so much confusion and will continue to do so for a while.
The login screen isn’t related. You’re not making a roster, you’re just making a for-fun idle screen.
Seriously. It’s been confusing people for almost a year now with no signs of stopping.
I get it. “Warbands” is a cute marketable term, but it’s confused everyone. They should have just said “Account Wide Bank, Rep, and Currency” in the trailer.
Uh… No I wouldn’t call that shooting themselves in the foot, just people not reading or listening to what was said. No amount of screenshots would alleviate that, just people unable to absorb the information presented to them
