Update Looks like they have already planned to do what I suggested below initially. Still want to use this as a place to put other specific requests like customization of the “camp.”
Didn’t see this topic up yet, so thought I’d post it. What would you like to see that could be a fairly easy implementation of warbands?
Off the top of my head, I wonder how they’ll decide who shows up on the login screen at any given time. Like, how does it determine “the five shown?”
- It could be a scroll as you move down the list of characters the “camp” shifts to highlight the one you chose.
- It could take the top five on the server list, but then what if you have 3 on Tich and 2 on Tortheldren?
- It could be random every time you log in.
- Personally, I’d love to have a sort of “favorite” option like with mounts/toys/transmog where you choose up to 5 and it puts them in the camp. You can click them to log in as that character or scroll through the list of other toons you have and select those instead or change the favorite.
Just this tiny interaction would be a great little bit of immersion that I don’t think would be a difficult implementation. 
Also, speaking of the camp. Customizations? Adjust day/night? Could be a game-outside-the-game where you choose stuff to show up/location/background

It looks like there will be a selection screen in the bottom right corner and it currently hovers over the character and the name on the right.
I wouldn’t mind customization on zones

I’ve seen the Screenshot as it exists now. And it lines up with the “drag favorites into their own spot” idea. That would be my preferred method, but I think it could be opened up to more of a quick select where you “star” up to 5 favorites across battle.net / servers and those 5 appear (this helps players with multiple characters on different servers/accounts).
And I remember them saying that was what they intended.
I would love an option to let it be randomized, but think that being able to drag/favorite the five of your choice would (and should) be the first choice

In the screenshot mock-up of the character select screen it said “camp” at the top of the list. I assume you drag your prefered characters into that grouping. Just like you can reorder your list.
So my little rp dream of having my characters entire family show up on the login screen can actually he a thing? Im hype.
I didnt realize it was cross faction too. So minor but very neat.

Yes, same; it’s a surprisingly exciting thing for being so seemingly small 
I’d like a way to not have to logout at all to switch between warband members. Like I could walk my DK over to our “camp” (maybe give us 20+ locations throughout the world to set up a camp) and “tag in” my warrior and I’ll take control of my Warrior and my DK will sit down in camp.
It’d cause some issues for like, when we log out not in camp, but they could add a feature like “if you’re logged out for x amount of time, you are automatically returned to your camp”.
Also, as much as I hated mission tables, I’d like a form of them where we “send” our warband members to complete mission and then be able to actually find them in the world and help out on our main if we want.
Now they just need to let us summon a warband character that’s assigned to the camp as a follower for world content if we choose.
Having my mage follow my warrior around, for example.

They did say it didn’t matter if people in the warband were on different servers as they would have some indication to indicate that and that there wouldn’t be a need to change realm. So should be able to have a camp login screen of preferred people regardless of what server or faction they are on.
I don’t expect this, but it would be nice if there was some customization to choose the look of the camp, for instance for me I would love to recreate a Vol’dun Vulpera Caravan.

Ooh yes, customization would be awesome. That could be part of the special “achievements” and stuff they were talking about. It would make the camp a pseudo housing option. It could include stuff like:
- Finish a zone’s major questlines to unlock it as a background option.
- Finish a raid on (LFR/Normal/etc) and unlock that raid as a background option.
- Include your statues from Garrison (maybe add more)
- Select favorite toys to show on stands/shelves
- select favorite armor transmogs to show on stands

Since playerhousing might be too out of place for WoW, this could an alternative.
Being able to choose a spot (any zone in the world), having a camp/room within a building, etc, choices on what to show (perhaps mogs and mounts, for starters), then showing all our characters (or at least the ones we want) hanging out.
This could easily work.
It would be a wonderful mini-implementation, and the freedom they give us with it will help determine how awesome it is/if it could function as pseudo-player housing. I listed some of my suggestions for how to achieve that feeling above.
