War Within Warlock

Ive just watched “The War Within warrior hero talents first look” which was filled with talk about how “player feedback is important” and “the goal is to not force you to play one specific build” yet I can’t trust any of that as a Warlock player.
Personally I’ve felt obligated to play demonology every season all expansion in raid and M+. At his point it feels like blizz doesnt care as long as one spec is functioning. Especially buffing demo just before season 3 when it was already the best performing spec.
Theres been endless questional descisions all expansion though.
Not feeling terribly optimistic.

except they giga nerfed us by devaluing tyrant AGAIN, and then they gave us a GIGA buff with the 4set for season 3. Now it just feels awful only keeping 10 imps instead of the 30 I already have out. Basically they made demo feel like asscheeks but also made number go ↑↑↑ at the same time, but all anyone cares about is the numbers, so screw the actual gameplay loop

When Bethesda tells the millions in their player base they are wrong and what is fun, they at least read the feedback lol. Not the case with Blizzard sadly.

Bring back Unstable Affliction as the spender. Cap it to 5 per target again. Give a talent called “Malefic Rapture: Casting Unstable Affliction on a target with an already active Unstable Affliction causes a Malefic Rapture. Malefic Rapture causes all active DoT’s to instantly deal damage equal to x% of their total damage.”

The mage developers feel exactly the same way. Just kidding, there are no mage developers. But as someone with a demo alt, yes it is frustrating to be in the “play demo or suck” stage of game life.

Revert us back to Legion Aff and tone the numbers down if necessary. Get rid of MR, it’s a failure.

I’d rather not have UA as a spender. Just bring Rapid Contagion in as a spender, literally solves most of Affliction’s problems. Remove Malefic Rapture, put RC in and just have it consume all available shards on a 30 second CD and give buffed up DoT damage n ticking speeds based on how many shards was consumed then.

Remove Siphon Life as a DoT and instead make the talent make your DoTs heal you for 20% of the damage they deal or something. Make AC buff up Corruption damage and only increase its duration by 100% not infinity.

After that all they need to do is give us execute DoTs back as a talent, give our DoTs cleaving/splash damage as a talent and remove VT/PS from the game. Give a talent to where SoC can spread Agony, too, and put UA as a “1 per target” thing like what we had back in WoD.

Make a choice node with Withering Bolt to where you can pick Withering Bolt or Malefic Grasp with MG giving your DoTs a 5/10% faster and harder ticking damage per DoT, up to 3.

Stop trying to worry about “it will be OP” yeah, the very nature of DoTs SHOULD be OP, period. The tradeoff is you don’t get much burst, but you do get super big damage over 18 seconds. If a Ret Paladin can Judgment for 45k instantly, then a Corruption should do like 35k/second so 420k over 12 seconds.

DoT specs should be designed around raid fights and dungeon boss fights, not trash mob fights or mythic+. I get that many people do keys, but as long as they do like this season where most of the priority for 99% of the playerbase is “just live and you will time the key” then people won’t mind bringing you to keys, regardless.
