Maybe I haven’t paid enough attention but, has there been any word on talent updates at all for Evoker? At least from what I can tell it seems like the Devastation and Preservation trees are still the exact same they are on live. (I’m unsure about Aug since I never play it).
I’m guessing it just hasn’t been our time yet in Alpha. But, what changes would you guys like to see to either the class or spec trees for any of the specs?
For me, I would like to see some different pathing or new talents to make Firestorm more viable and interesting without sacrificing too much of the other stuff. And I think removing Arcane Intensity (16% increase dmg on laser beam) or at least make it a 1 point talent.
And for Preservation in general I would like a DR mitigation ability beyond just time dilation.
What do you all think?
I do wish firestorm was more than a meme spell. If they made it procable to be instant cast it would be nice, and if they gave it the same treatment as Deep Breath so that it always benefited 100% from mastery it’d be the go-to in AoE builds.

Neither of those changes will make it worth taking in AOE (in anything other than a sustained aoe fight like primal council) unless they massively overhaul the pathing to take it.
And let’s be honest, do we want Firestorm to become a necessary pick in AoE situations?
Without any other changes aside from “it do big dam”? Personally hate the spell, it feels woefully out of place on Evoker.

I personally would like to see firestorm in niche situations be valuable.
Think like a fire nova build for enhance shamans.
If they made it so every target hit by firestorm gave a 10% chance of giving essence burst, you could create an insanely fun gameplay loop where you could pull big onto a boss and we could have insane funnel into disintegrate on prio targets.
It would still be great on pure AOE cause you’d get free pyre spam, but it would be so fun to play with in a very organized group.
Outside of a situation like that, though, yeah I don’t want to be forced into a spell that feels bad. Maybe if it were instant cast and followed a target it’d feel less bad, but it would feel awful to play as currently designed if it were required.
Probably didn’t look at the bottom half of the Preservation tree.
The preservation middle and bottom of the talent tree have changes. They added the season 1/4 tier set to the bottom and improved the pathing to not take meaningless talents for certain builds. We now have much more flexibility based on what builds/hero talents you prefer.
I’m pumped for a blossom/flame shaper and a echo/timewarden build. Not sure which one I choose. I like the flexibility of blossom personally.
