He could be, he did cameo in the shadowlands.
But you also reformatted your post. Before it looked like the last part was part of the alpha text.
I’m not surprised at his death. It felt heavily foreshadowed after you gave him a drink at the after-Raid party.

I thought he was delving in the shadowlands anyway?
I learned that no character truely “dies” in this game. They just get sent to the shadowlands.

I like him. But to be honest it wouldn’t devastate me. He’s a good candidate for killing off.

I am hella conflicted on that.
On one hand yes I approve blowing up random stuff to achieve results.
On the other, the result is waking him up.
What’s with writers’ fascination for killing off all the characters people actually like?
