Dalaran: I think just like how Khadgar wasn’t destroyed but merely trapped in a pocket dimension, we’re gonna see the same thing happen with the entirety of Dalaran. It’ll be a set of floating ruins in the void, and a raid may take place there. Something about important energies or artifacts in the city will be the key to Xal’athah’s plans. The city will either finally be destroyed completely, rescued, or just scavenged.
Amirdrassil will somehow play a role within the World Soul saga, perhaps rescuing the spirit of Azeroth or acting as a direct conduit to send it power, saving the world in a crucial time of need. This will be the payoff for why such a big deal was made out of it in the first place other than it being a “new beginning” for the Night Elves.
I’m not sure Amirdrassil would need to be involved if the Sunwell will become the focus unless blood elves want to share a world tree. Could happen though.
The prevailing theory is that world trees’ roots freed the old gods. There’s a reason Aman’Thul ripped out the first one, Elun’Ahir, and here’s all the elves planting more.
The Npc ( don’t remember her name) that showed the cinematic at the beginning of the Amirdrassil zone, explained that the tree was being prepared for Azeroth ( right before Ferraks minions started torching everything).
Surely they thought of a way to teleport it to Kalimdor, we just haven’t seen it in action yet.
And sorry, soldier elves are the definition of expendable. Like sending Bic Lighters to defend Teladrassil.
The novels went out of their way to say a bunch of civilians from nearby settlements were all huddled into the tree before it got burned.
Due to the fact that we never hear or see that in game, nobody mentions it in the game, and it’s a really stupid concept that makes zero sense and is only done for cheap pathos, I’m electing to ignore it. Just another thing to chock up to “unreliable narrator.”
Quick question: if there was a giant invasion, would you start bringing your civilians towards it or away from it? Exactly.
I think that amirdrassil will have some part to play in the world soul saga, but definitely not as the sun well, or anything related to it. Amirdrassil is connected to the dream, not so much focused on arcane magic.
However, in hallowfall, the sacred flame seems very likely to be related to the sunwell. A couple of arathi and blood elves are discussing it, and they say that the sacred flame isn’t just light, it’s also arcane magic. The blood elves say that this is exactly like the sunwell, which it is. This is what makes me think that the two are related.
