I know all the content is in the end game… but I am enjoying the leveling/world so far ![]()
Kinda doubtful. WoWs issue is its a game marketed to hardcore players willing to pay multiple times for the same game ( game, expansion, cosmetics, services etc).
The issue is you need to play for more then 10 hours for the option of it to not be a cow clicker.
yea… I’m aware of that. Just saying the leveling is actually fun and the world is enjoyable.
When I tried to get in during battle for azeroth… it was a slug. Such an uninteresting story and world.
I guess in the never ever be challenged or simulated kind of fun
Hey congrats. There’s definitely plenty for new players to experience.
Unfortunately Primalmatter is right. The “end” endgame is mostly elite high level stuff. You can do Delves and whatnot but then you’re getting the second best gear (And a lot of terrible trinkets). If you want the best-best stuff, it’s MOBA level gameplay.
On the plus side, the second best gear is more than enough to feel like you beat the game. The best-best gear is overkill for most open world stuff.
Yea, haha. Not at the part yet… will get there eventually.
Jeez who wizzed in your corn flakes this morning?
Agreed,
There is no room for bads ( like me) in competitive end game.
I usually leave at endgame and do other stuff.
It is really fun. They put in so many small fun enjoyable things in the open world. Sometimes it’s nice to smell the roses ![]()
I really wish the player base would normalize heroic gear as the final tier. Then maybe folks wouldn’t feel so pressured to get Mythic.
Though it doesn’t help games like FF14 allow players to trip and fall their way to the best gear (For mog reasons). Then again, that’s a negative way to look at it. If anything, WoW should allow players to trip and fall to the best gear.
Personally, I don’t care either way. All I’d like to see if for folks to be overjoyed they have a full set of Heroic gear. If you want nothing to do with twitch-reflex gameplay, WoW’s practically beaten at that point.
Even Myth gear at a certain stage isn’t too bad (imo) for the average player. When crests get uncapped the same 10 I might have struggle with in week 2 will have way less checks because we’ll destroy it faster. Even if I stick to just 10s each week I’ll eventually be full mythic
There’s plenty of players who don’t care for the proper end game, and I don’t blame them: There’s all sorts of stuff to do for players of all skill levels!
I have fun pushing myself to reasonable goals and roleplaying, some have fun just running around doing all the quests, some have fun collecting all the appearances and doing pet battles.
There’s certainly flaws in WoW, but a lack of things to do for players of multiple skill levels sure isn’t one.
Sadly, the DPS throughput I’ve seen from folks says otherwise ![]()
Folks fail up in M+ and it hurts to watch. I can’t in good spirit recommend the game mode to anyone looking to avoid high-level gameplay.
I like to imagine that I am slightly more self aware than the average bear.
I don’t even mess with M+. I view M+ as a place players go to push their personal best. My personal best is not at that level and I do not want to be the reason folks fall short.
I’m mostly happy with world content, leveling, and the end game content they make accessible for bads like LFR.
There is a lot to do out there in the wild. I only wish it would scale like GW2 does.
If I feel like wasting my time in red ridge for some insane reason, I wouldn’t mind if there were a challenge there waiting for me, or the ability to help out lowbies and noobies alike.
I don’t know how easy that would be now, with all the years of content, level squishes, and so on.
I’d like to go experience BFA through chromie and get to see more than one map and an incomplete story
I really enjoy the leveling in WoW (even if I do think the speed is a tad fast and the damage/health of enemies should probably be buffed). They should be trying to somewhat replicate their mythic + playstyle for leveling dungeons. If you pull entire packs (like 15+ enemies) there should be dangerous abilities (or just pure damage) that will wipe your group. And, it’s just kind of rediculous that we’re running around like gods in a game that’s supposed to be mostly a medieval fantasy setting.
This is a great idea. Those classic era Eastern Kingdom zones were so distinctive with their own character, flavor, and storylines. I feel like the game has really gotten away from that, especially compared to War Within. Watered down in comparision.
Eta except for Undermine, where they put all their creative energy this expansion.
There is such an insane amount of amazing content out there. Scaling would make almost all of it relevant again.
I think this is where games like WoW have fallen to the side. You see it happen too often. My partner and I were playing some zombie survival game and we quit short of the 2nd tier of crafting due to the game’s focus on its hardcore players.
Somehow game devs forget there’s a massive population of gamers who are not pros. And instead of focusing on them, they invest their time into the elites. I don’t get why since keeping new-new-new players happy is no doubt a solid revenue generator.
Blizz needs to stop catering to the elites and look back on its roots. Jumping puzzles are a good start. Or fun exploration puzzles.
Agreed.
Also agree that this game, and it’s community are not very welcoming to the new.
I blame the game design. From the very beginning we are taught to bicker and fight over basic stuff like loot and resources.
That doesn’t exist in GW2 and it shows in the way the community interacts with one another.
Me, the player to my left, and the player to my right should all be pulling in the same direction without worrying one of the other two will get what I want and I’ll miss out.
Additionally, I feel I need to point out while being critical, I am not doing this out of anything more than a desire to see the game do better and it’s players to feel better while playing.
I want them both to succeed. There is no real benefit for anyone in letting anyone else fail.
Also! Nice to be rapping with you, Mustachio.
Absolutely. It’s been a pleasure having a decent conversation with someone even if we [very mildly] disagree. Your perspective is much appreciated over the typical toxic whiplash.
Think I’ll shoot you a mail on Sumwun here if you don’t mind. We could surely find something silly to do together. Maybe a drinking night or even an “old man after mowing the lawn” night (Or day lol).
