War within forgettable

I feel like the war within expansion has been very forgettable. Nothing really stands out as something to remember years from now and you look back at previous expansions. Story was meh and gameplay wasn’t really anything special. People have their favorite expansions for very specific reasons and I just don’t think war within really leaves a lasting impression.

I disagree with your opinion but thats the point of opinions, each person can have their own. enjoy your thoughts and be well.

…Did you just skip the entirely of Undermine, which is probably the most unique and stand out zone in the game in a very long time?

Banging music, too! Even if 11.2 isn’t very good, it’s sure gonna be hard to forgot Undermine!

Agreed. Undermine may be my favorite zone ever. It’s at least in my top 5.

We just had Undermine which I unfortunately won’t be able to forget until I’ve washed the smell of the place off of me.

Not a great zone but we’ve never had a leaking garbage bag as any kind of hub before. Hard to forget.

I think TWW is one of the best PVP expansion. I will not forget this one. The zones are nice too. Delves and Solo Queue Blitz, the 2 things I’ve wanted in this game for a long time.

TWW very much feels like a filler episode. LoU was fun but overall felt kind of pointless in regards to the narrative. K’aresh looks like it is going to feel like a complete departure from the xpac altogether which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Whether it changes the “filler episode” feel or not is tbd.

Idk.

We’ve had Xal’atoes the final boss of foot fetishes.
Alleria’s “I’m not aiming at you” gal-bossing.
Khadgar got a purple wheelchair.
And we just had quite possibly the worst in-game scene they’ve ever crafted in the arathor one.

I think TWW has unforgettable levels of cringe and potentially endless meme value.

True, but its hard to associate blitz to war within because it could happen in any expansion.

Not entirely certain, the gender of the characters remaining in the situation has anything to do with the state of councils or the state of particular factions.

Out of curiousity, if you had to pick one standout memory from each expansion you’ve played, what would they be?

Would agree that the zones were amazing but what is forgettable, in my opinion, is the story that should have been running through the whole patch.

Now granted we still have one final segment of the story and there is possibility that it will all tie everything together but to me this expansion has been a bunch of disjointed mini stories instead of one large story.

War within
Liberate Earthen
Aid the Arathi
Defeat the Neurbians
20th anniversary
Siren Isle
Undermine
Nightfall
Legacy of Arathor
Ghost of K’aresh

Looking back at this expansion in five years I think it will be remembered as one of three patches incorporated in the World Soul saga instead of a standalone expansion.

That will be remembered (despite the fact I completely forgot about it till you mentioned it  ). People will be using the transmog sets till the day they turn the servers off so that at least will live on.

So far I think the moment in TWW I’ll remember most was being out gathering, preparing to swoop down on a node and then suddenly having a flash of adrenaline and thinking “can’t stop here, this is bee country!”

Not quite sure if it’s a good memory or a bad memory, but I had a good laugh at myself over it.

Where we are currently, it feels like the whole first patch has been discarded. Any expansion that does that will suck. Having a cohesive narrative makes a difference.

You mean that toxic sludge garbage pit cramped and claustrophobic with tight corners that dont complement the speedy drive thing at all?

Also personally I find goblins uninteresting. Like gnomes and elves they are just the background characters of wow.

It was all shoehorned in and didnt really fit with or make much sense to be in this expansion other than “its underground so throw it out there!”. Felt like it was just put here because they had nothing else at the moment to keep the actual story going. Felt like the ring island, just a long commercial waiting for Xalatath to get her crap together.

Councils means lack of leadership, lack of authority, weakness, lack of content.
If you disagree name a council that is taking interesting and engaging actions.

About gender, is kinda of obvious, name a female warrior character interesting as Grommash, Varian and Garrosh or a female demon hunter interesting as Illidan, or a female paladin interesting as Arthas, Uther and Turalyon.

Theres nothing complex about it.

I don’t disagree that councils can be less than powerful when it comes to things like horde leadership. But when you specifically reference there were no men, it was an absolute indication that you were digging on them because they were comprised of women.

You think they are interesting as Ozai? :joy:
I think Naruto had better examples to prove your point, yet councils are still not interesting.

Its not just horde, any council is not interesting or engaging.
