War within city

Will the new city in war within replace all of the old cities as the main hub? And will both stormwind and orgrimmar die as a main city hub for players? Since the new city has the trading post and transmog and no doubt a haircut area.

Valdrakken has all of that too.
So it’ll be the same as now.

Valdrakken doesn’t have trading post but dornogul does.

You go to the trading post like once a month, not a huge difference

Not unless you’re part of the collecting community than you would see the difference between those who are and aren’t.

Yeah pretty much this.

Stormwind/Org also serve as the main portal hubs, so it’s just beneficial to set Hearths there anyway so any travel is just 1 portal away instead of 2.

Guess it kinda depends what you do though. If you mostly just do M+, then maybe Valdrakken is better than SW/Org right now since Blizz has been putting dungeon portals for the non-DF dungeons in Valdrakken. But I don’t do much M+ anymore so that doesn’t benefit me.

If the new city pulls the same thing, it’ll be the same situation, M+ centric might prefer to stay there, other people probably prefer SW/Org for wider portal access among other things.

Trading Post is a mad rush to the stand once a month and then it’s importance is moot. Them putting it in the new city is likely just an effort to split people up a little more since the Trading Post routinely causes massive server lag in the capitals for the first couple days after it updates.

Even if youre a collector… theres not that much there that you can buy, you finish your log, pick up your tendies, buy what you want, and youre done

I really hope that some day the horde destroy Stormwind and we can move back to Ironforge, i really miss that place.

Why would a person part of the collecting community be going to the trading post regularly?

Not sure this is a big game changer to be honest.

The trading post is account wide so… I just park a level 50 character in Stormwind to collect tender and buy stuff. I don’t need to take any main characters there unless there is an event of some kind. I guess if you only have one character, then you would need to go there once a month.

Oh Mimiron, i’m eager to see what the Earthen could request from the Trading Post. Something similar to Pascal-King’s hunt for a horse. :crystal_ball::robot:

Pascal-K1N6 says: Greetings. I require a Mechanical Steed.
Tawny Seabraid says: Oh, for Prince Erazmin? Let me have a look.
Pascal-K1N6 says: Incorrect. For my own usage.
Tawny Seabraid says: Oh, I don’t think we have anything that will fit you, sorry.
Pascal-K1N6 says: That is unfortunate. Have you checked in the back?
Tawny Seabraid says: Everything you see here is what we have.
Pascal-K1N6 says: … I shall return later.

Like every expansion prior, yes.

Stormwind wasn’t the main city for Alliance until Cataclysm as Ironforge was closer to Molten Core and Menethil Harbor to reach Kalimdor. Ironforge lost it’s main city status in The Burning Crusade. So what you’re asking is “will Stormwind and Orgrimmar continue to be overshadowed by the current expansion’s capital city as they have been since Cataclysm in 2010?” The answer is again yes.

Only Stormwind and Orgrimmar had access to the Trading Post, but Dornogal (the capital city of The War Within) having a branch would eliminate my once a month trip to Stormwind to collect the monthly Trading Post reward, even though it barely took five minutes thanks to portaling from Valdrakken to Stormwind then back again.

So more of the same.

Eh, oribos was not great for a replacement, nor were the bfa zones, most people still hung out back in like org during those

That is true. I never bound my hearth to BFA cities. I did for DF because I hate the Org portal room.

That wasn’t the question.

Source? If anyone was doing Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands content when they were current, they most likely set their Hearthstones to those capital cities.

Hearthstone goes to new city. Guild cloaks and brawlers guild ring to return to Org/SW. There will be a portal from those cities to the new city so will be functionally identical to Valdrakken.

The only time those cities were main hubs was Vanilla and Cataclysm lol.

Oribos and the BFA cities were mostly empty compared to val, no Auction House, horrible layouts.

Oribos was an airport

I’ll suppose I’ll try again…

Dazar’lor probably, but Boralus?

Boralus was one of the best hubs wow ever had. Everything was easy acess with few steps. Also, the cozy ambience and the visuals was amazing. The NPCs acting so naturally around the city make it feels alive.

But you’re from Horde. You probably traumatized by the hundred of stair cases of Dazar’lor :joy:
