It hasn’t been 24 hours yet and it almost reach 1 million views.
1.7M at the moment.
It got me thinking, once I got past the initial awe at how beautiful it is.
People have said, why don’t they realise its Azeroth. My thought was - but is it Azeroth?
If I recall correctly, whenever Magni spoke with Azeroth, he said something like that the communication was more emotional than words, or images, but not clearly words. And in the cinematic, there were words - ‘Anduin’ and “hear me” (if I recall correctly).
And also, there was a lot of uncertainty as to whether all of what Magni was receiving was actually coming from Azeroth and not from some other more dangerous source. So when Thrall says he doesn’t know who is speaking, he could very well be right to be uncertain.
My gut feeling is, we are taking too much for granted with the supposed world soul of Azeroth. The grand conspiracy that Metzen mentioned could be a lot more dramatic than people are thinking.
i think he’s talking to that void-blade-chick…
This is indeed possible.
In before party-poopers that say it’s definitely Azeroth because the subtitles say so.
Something I disagree with. Subtitles being an extra-narative source which may not have even been seen by the artists involved.
The identity of the voice is intentionally left vague to both the characters and the audience. The characters seem to assume it’s Azeroth. Character assumptions in the first act of a work of fiction are almost always wrong.
On top of that, Alleria is hearing a different voice from below. So either there’s two mysterious entities reaching out or one manipulative entity calling out in different voices.
From my observations, Alleria is hearing Xal’atoth. If not, they’ve certainly framed it that way.
And since every time the voice in the cinematic spoke, it showed the World Soul, I’m going to guess it is Azeroth speaking, until proven otherwise. No need to have any conspiracy theories going right away, at least for me. But you guys have fun.
King of Diamonds has been made a pawn…?
I was thinking something else.
I do think it is the Azeroth World Soul talking to them, Thrall said he was not sure yet, which means he has at least a guess. My theory is that Azeroth isn’t a titan, worldsouls aren’t necessarily titan souls, is my current guess, but this might not be the case and she is just a titan.
But What i was wondering is the other line, “that sword was aimed at someone”, We assume it was aimed to kill Azeroth, but maybe it wasn’t, the truth is, during the whole Antorus Raid, Sargeras is in cloud form around Azeroth, he could have done many stabs to the planet, and I’m not doing some theory on how Sargeras was the good guy all along, but what if He had a very specific target he was looking for before going for the kill? Maybe the worldsoul itself still would have use to him alive, but he wanted to kill something specific for sure, and when he was getting dragged out of Azeroth, he found it and tried to go for the kill, but missed?
Sargeras’ sworn enemy is the Void and its Void Lords. His crusade across the universe was him trying to burn it all before the Void could take it. That also means that the Old Gods and their minions are his enemies by association. Considering the Nerubians below ground were once servants of the Old Gods (Yogg-Saron specifically), there’s definitely at least a few possibilities as far as what his actual target was.
Could she be an imprisoned First One?
I’ll admit that would definitely be weird as heck given all established lore, but we did have Shadowlands…
I’d put money on it being Azeroth, blizz going “OR IS IT?!?” to something obvious is very in character for them. See the burning of teldrassil.
That said, it is way more fun to throw out wild theories. Personally I think it’s a titan keeper stationed at azeroths core, not azeroth herself. It could also be whichever old god the new nerubians are collecting the blood of (I don’t believe it’s been stated which one they’re collecting the blood of), hell it could just be the knaifu. Maybe it’s something completely new and unpredictable.
Blizzard themselves has made the subtitles. Unless you’re telling us to expect a weak twist.
The subtitles were done by Ted Dibiase.
Since when that wrestler guy worked in Blizzard?
Kind of random.
Cause everybody got a price.
Everybody’s gotta pay.
Cause the million dollar man.
ALWAYS gets his way.
Those kinda guys are great when you want to give something a little…flair:
Or it could be the knife lady. She is, after all, not a real person but a power of some sort. If she is down there, she could be doing her shifty shadowy misdirection and/or targetting.
It’s Azeroth ok years have passed in game since BFA and Azeroth seems to no longer be stirring but awake which is no doubt the event the Titans have been waiting for not everything needs to be a void trick or scheme.
As for visions and whispers from Xal’atath those are likely the very different ones Alleria is receiving.
It’s possibly Azeroth, ok? It’s possibly something else. Anything at this point is possible.
Alleria’s whispers would be different. She is a Void Elf, and that is what she is more likely to perceive.
I like to keep my options - and my imagination - open and available.
Sorry about that, I refreshed it 2million times looking for the cinematic where the heroes are battling the Nerubian onslaught!
