War within basic

How many of you picked the basic edition just to save money? Even if you do have the money for the more expensive editions but decided to save your money.

I’ll pick the basic edition. It’s just that they don’t offer anything in the higher levels that I want.
If they did, I’d be tempted.

Offer a pair of black tights and I’d be there.
Why? Because they go with any top.

although it was credits not money.

Tuxedo pants are like black tights.

I opted for the… whatever their version of Ultimate is.

There was enough in it to justify the cost to me.

I might just buy it when it goes on sale at the end of s1 and force myself to finish off the shadowlands/dragonflight metas in the meantime

I got epic cause I wanted all the bells and whistles.

I don’t have it yet, but once TWW arrives I’ll also be grabbing a basic edition.

Not specifically to save money, but I’m just a cheapskate when it comes to games, just because I have too many as-is.

I chose the edition that saved the most amount of money: none.

because why pay more? simple as that?

We already pay a monthly sub that is 180$ a year.

Me. I can wait until the inevitable holiday sale to upgrade if I still want something those editions offer. If I wait awhile to buy something I more often than not find I don’t need or want it any longer.

I won’t exchange actual currency for a hypothetical product. When War Within launches and if it’s well received after two weeks, I’ll purchase the basic version.

I’ll persist without a pet and an extra mount I’ll never use. Somehow, I shall press on.

The basic version is $75au here in Australia which seems excessive and a cash grab since they are doing smaller more frequest expansions moving forward.

The pants on the Inquisitor cosmetic sets from Korthia also work for a slightly more ā€˜textured’ look, plus they come in four colors:

I might upgrade from basic to epic when my tax refund hits.

Indeed. Basic edition being $50 is already a scam. Higher editions are turbo scams. Same applies to pretty much any modern game that has multiple ā€œeditionsā€ (fomo to swindle more $$$).

I got the Shadowlands physical collectors edition and ended up regretting it, given they put such a lack-there-of effort into the story, writing & lore. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Dragonflight was decent – not great but decent enough, I think it was needed after BFA & SL’s themes. Like a bucket of cool water to temper a heated blade … Although I’m still not sure if my trust has been restored in Blizzard. :grimacing:

:person_shrugging: So I’m rather contemplative on whether or not to go beyond the basic edition or not.

I haven’t bought it yet.

I bought the epic edition for the 3-days early access. I don’t like that I supported this practice, but I play this game solely because of my friends, and starting three days later would have made the whole experience less enjoyable.

It’s not about the money for me. Playing WoW always saves me money because I buy fewer other games and other ā€œretail therapeuticā€ stuff. The real investment with WoW is always the time, not the money.
