War vs peace debate

Dude we have a freaking space ship with laser and teleportation. Basically we have the Enterprise out there and we NEVER USE IT.

Right because then the entire story would be over in 8 seconds. And that isnt going to happen.

in the entire history of humanity if you were to addup every single minute of peace that has existed in recorded history it adds up to 6 years. humans dont like peace dude you may not know humans if you didnt know that.

No i’m pretty sure he’s trying to say that there are still wars going on whether the civilians want it or not, unfortunately.

Well, we don’t disagree there. It wasn’t my point though.

that weapon lost most of its power breaking open antorus as per what the ingame story said didnt you read what was going on. its remaining power is used to help the lightforging part.

I’m saying it doesn’t matter what the general populace feels as long as their leaders want it to continue.

Yeah, we don’t disagree there. That wasn’t my point though.

Most of the warmongering leaders of the Horde and Alliance are dead at this point, however.

genn greymane lives turalyon lives both are warmonger’ers

Governments of whatever flavor don’t like peace. The average person generally doesn’t want to die.

There doesn’t necessarily need total world peace. This is warcraft after all.

There’s just no value in the only “war” being between the player factions, from a narrative sense. Because literally nothing can come from it and as far as I can gather, nothing has ever really been gained from it.

There’s lots of folks we can war with, it doesn’t always have to be Red vs Blue.

That’s two people from the Alliance and Genn is pretty firmly under Anduin’s control. Not much of a justification.

“Most” was the operative term.

i dont think you know about the religions in the past and preasent that see war as a good thing. and a way to their version of heaven. humans by nature desire conflict reject authority and desire power. we in out 1st world nations have become so intrenched and isolated from the world we dont realize we are an anomoly in the history of our world.

I think the big problem that keeps happening is this humanization of everyone in the game. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to ponder over certain things like stratholme, but when you try and bring too much of the real world to the fake world it just leads to someone not feeling so great because I guess it feels too real for them.

Like I’ll bring up warhammer again. Sometimes they’ll have some sincere stories that dive deep into certain concepts. But for the most part everything is so horribly awful to the point of it reversing and becoming completely ridiculous.

That’s what warcraft was at one time with stuff like “Path of Glory” and death knights not being able to be sane without causing torment to someone. Or at least that’s what I see.

I don’t think you’re qualified to tell me what I do and don’t know about history, frankly. You seem to be caught up in this fantasy version of the world where everyone is the hero or villain of a book when the vast majority of people throughout human history just wanted to… you know, live.

Religions are just as much of a power structure as governments are- and in most cases were a branch of or the entire government itself. They’re not representative of the average person, who in many cases didn’t even know who their countries or nations were at war with.

see i said something like this the factions the races are behaving and thinking and are being written as if they are the same as humans and not differnt races with differnt beliefs cultures and so on. its angering.

first off i was only explaining to you reality because of what you said you brought up irl originally. 2nd your idea of what wow should be is well trash and is to much how the game is now. dying losing more people than its gaining.

“Reality” seems to be a flexible term for you. WoW has been dying for ages because all MMOs are.

Not to sound monstrous, but whenever we bring up things like war crimes and civilian casualties, it kinda takes you out of the fantasy and back into the real world that most geeks are trying to escape from by means of stupid fantasy crap.

I think that this is part of a larger more general issue.

Everyone has their own personal line of where they want reality to end and fantasy begin. Everyone has their own threshold for escapism. And this is just in general, not for any particular topic.
