So when Battle for Azeroth was in the pre-patch stages there were two pre-patch events, War of the Thorns and Battle for Lordaeron for both Alliance and Horde. When Battle for Azeroth was live, they took out War of the Thorns, but Battle for Lordaeron was accessible I think for both sides if you did the level boost portion. And even accessible at random when you walked past the keep. (I got it at random when rping with some guildies at the time.)
Now for Alliance you can talk to Curator Thomas I think is his name and he’ll let you run through the questline. Horde probably has a similiar npc. But what’s annoying is that the War of the Thorns is missing. It’s just as important as the Battle for Lordaeron and it also gave players the hippogryph mount.
You could even have it apart of Curator Thomas’ thing with previous prepatch events as well so that way people don’t miss out on those rewards or even transmogs.
Kinda dumb that such a pivotal moment, and one that is still constantly talked about both in-game and in the community, can’t actually be seen anywhere except Youtube.
Dedicate a section of the caverns of time to experience these past events. Reward no exp and maybe just some rep relevant to the timekeepers or whatever is in there, I forgot.
Like I said there’s the Curator npc in Mage District near the tower that will let you play through the Battle for Lordaeron. They should add the War of Thorns to that.
But I also want to know what happened to that warden that betrayed her sisters pre-legion. Or that stuff on Pandaria with a cloak or ring that got removed?
I’m fine with the rewards never coming back. But the quests, the story.
They really could better utilize CoT. Besides prepatch events they could put older quests and versions of instances that have been removed from game in there.
Watching a video is a lot of a different experience than playing it yourself. I’m someone that does better writing for characters when I’ve gone through the questline myself. War of the Thorns is something that I have a hard time writing for. I usually give a vague detail because I honestly don’t know much about it because I never played through it.
Totally agree. So much has been taken out that is just fun or cool. Like taking back the Undercity after the Wrathgate. The War of Thorns was a fun experience and has important lore beats that should be able to be played through
