So unlike US servers where Horde is the dominant faction, on OCE servers the dominant faction is typically Alliance. For the longest time the population was pretty evenly split over all OCE servers, with each faction having it’s most dominant server, with Alliance being Frostmourne, and Horde being Barthilas.
When War Mode was introduced in BFA, at first the world PvP was pretty balanced. Frostmourne Alliance would get paired against Barthilas Horde and fights would ensue pretty evenly for a while typically with Frostmourne’s Alliance winning in the end with their Alliance population being larger than Bathilas’s Horde population.
However, despite this. Due to the way War Mode’s bonuses work, accounting for the entire server cluster. It means that OCE got pooled in with US servers, which was still majorly Horde dominated.
So it meant that, despite OCE servers having very little interaction with US servers in World PvP, and despite Alliance out numbering Horde on OCE World PvP in most cases. Alliance Received a 30% War Mode bonus, while Horde only got 10%.
Because of this, many hardcore Horde raiding guilds transferred over to Frostmourne Alliance to get this basically free 30% bonus to questing rewards (including anima power), which created a trickle effect of more and more Horde players swapping over.
Now OCE’s Alliance active population outnumber Horde active population almost 5 to 1, and Alliance still received the 30% bonus.
More than a dozen top Horde Raiding guilds have transferred over to Frostmourne just this raid tier, and my guild is looking at doing the same.
At the time of this post, only 11 Barthilas Horde guilds have killed Mythic Sylv, while 51 have killed Mythic Sylv on Frostmourne Alliance. Several of those aforementioned Horde guilds have already transferred over.
At this rate, Horde’s raiding presence on OCE severs is going to be non-existent.
