There’s been a noticeable surge in players abusing the follower dungeon queue system to avoid PvP encounters while War Mode is active. Specifically, players who are losing in PvP are using this queue to escape combat, effectively dodging the consequences of engaging in open-world PvP.
What I, and many other PvP players, propose is that the follower dungeon queue should not be accessible if a player is actively engaged in PvP or for a brief period after combat ends. We’re only talking a short lockout—just a few seconds, not minutes—to prevent this exploit. This adjustment would target specific classes like night elves, paladins, rogues, and mages, who can use abilities such as Shadowmeld or Vanish to drop out of combat and queue instantly, unfairly avoiding PvP repercussions.
Furthermore, this issue isn’t limited to players trying to avoid PvP. Bots are also exploiting this mechanic. There are countless bots farming herbs and ore in the open world, and the moment a player tries to engage them in combat, their scripts queue them for a follower dungeon, allowing them to avoid conflict and continue their farming with almost no downtime. This not only disrupts PvP but also negatively impacts the game’s economy.
By implementing a short follower dungeon queue lockout during and after PvP engagement, we can help preserve the integrity of War Mode and prevent both player and bot abuse of this system. This is a straightforward solution that would benefit the entire community.

There should be a 30 second delay to be able to join a delve after combat ends in addition with not being able to join one while in combat.
As for the whole bot thing this is why there are bot banning waves instead of them being banned from the game as soon as they are caught. Otherwise it lets the coders have a better place to pinpoint as to where their bot needs to be adjusted to avoid it happening again. I do understand why people would very much appreciate it if they were banned on the spot though.

Delves are not queued content. You have to actually go to them. Or do you mean the follower dungeons?
That was not the point of me mentioning bots. The point of me mentioning bots was specifically to showcase that the bots too, are using this same mechanic in whatever scripts they are running to do their farming.
If they get attacked, they just instantly port to a follower dungeon, then come right back out and start their farming again with no delay and no deserter debuff.

Yes I meant the queued content. Long day already. Lol
I agree 100% man. It’s something I and many other players have wanted since follower dungeons were added into the game, but Blizzard just refuses to listen to anything mentioned here on the War Mode forums. I really hope they do implement some sort of short lock out.

I know this isn’t the takeaway from this post, and sorry to derail it, but does anyone know WHY bots farm in open world? I don’t gather but gatherers I have spoken to mention they get no benefit from farming in War Mode.
I hunt in open world almost exclusively for wpvp encounters and luckily I have not encountered bots queueing away but I know when I see a pair going from node to node I’m walking away with at least 2 bloody tokens. I don’t understand the point of them flying around in WM farming when they could turn WM off and have no issues. Am I missing something with the process?
Way less competition for the nodes in war mode. I generally ONLY see bots in war mode. Less people there to report them as well.
you gain more mats in warmode.
I think it’s a symptom to a bigger problem:
- Warmode balance completely sucks.
- Assassin buff is incredibly unfair as it marks you and encourages imbalance and unfair raiding by all in the zone.
- No incentives really to PvP in warmode outside a very fast/small quest that has ZERO punishment for leaving the brawl area.
- Warmode is too confined to a single spot and not natural/fluid.
If warmode didn’t suck so bad people would actually have battles. I think it’s also a mistake to allow horde to kill horde and alliance vs ally etc… Should be a pure faction v faction fight always with a higher focus on balancing.
You’re placing a lot of blame on warmode for faction imbalance when blizzard makes alliance racials supremely overpowered, and then writes the alliance as super heroic winner gods in the story and horde as sad sack loses who are weak and can’t even beat the alliance when cheating.
I’m not bragging. I’m not an Alliance fan. I’m mad about it.
I dunno, I guess? I always been horde and love beating up alliance in pvp. If that’s the issue, maybe it’s time to fix it a bit. But I’d rather have imbalance in power from racials and just wipe out all the flavor and MMORPG aspects of the game. I think a healthy dose of imbalance through power and sweat is good in a game like WoW. I don’t want an esport, but I do think warmode is screwed up
So you’re okay with all of the overpowered racials being on one faction?
that makes it better, somehow?
