Unlike actual vanilla, everyone knows the Ahn’Qiraj war effort requirements. Throw in random extra requirements to keep things real and fun.
Blizz already said they won’t change it
Funny how their tune changes.
Here, OP. Use Batrol’s words against them:
… the Ahn’Qiraj war effort requirements.
Oh, no changes, by the way.
Bro you are petty af
I don’t care either way if they change it but blizz explicitly said they won’t in this specific case so I’m just relaying that fact so he doesn’t get his hopes up
You mean like how they wouldn’t add class mechanics to a game that was already published a decade ago?
I mean like in a Reddit AMA answering this exact question saying they have no plans on modifying the turn in requirement for aq40
Even if they did modify it I guarantee you the sweaty guilds will farm out the resources in a week and we’ll still be on schedule
So from the original openings in Vanilla, it took 4-8 weeks (I think 6 weeks on average) for the effort to be completed and someone able to ring the gong.
I personally believe that Blizzard should put a hard time gate on the last stage of the effort. Leaving an item off, or just flat out not showing the gong quest until 4-6 weeks after the start.
This is actually in line with “no changes” as it preserves the time frame and events closer to that of Vanilla. Rather than an artificial “boom done” scenario that seems to be building on most servers.
Part of what I’ve enjoyed in Classic is how similar the progression has felt with reputations. Hard work and time effort is being rewarded right now. Allowing the gates to open so soon due to player knowledge would shatter this illusion and honestly be not fun.
Scenario 2 is for the gong quest to be available for 6-8 weeks after it’s rang the first time. Again, this would simulate the time that player had to complete the quest in Vanilla. It would also allow the “rushers” to clear AQ40. This one seems to be more of a win/win, but is a bit of a change.
If they’re planning something like this then hopefully they publicly announce it because right now people are already forming their carapace farming groups and prepping mats for the one week scarab lord grind
If it’s 8 weeks long then we can get 8x the scarab lords
True, but that was possible in Vanilla as well. The community was just different.
Did they actually say that?
Yea check the Reddit ama they did last year
I wouldn’t mind it, just would like to know well in advance
They haven’t said anything yet. Which is why it’s likely that all of this is still internally up for debate.
Do you preserve gameplay and systems.
Or do you preserve the experience.
Personally, they’ve leaned on experience of Vanilla quite a bit so far and I hope they continue to do so.
Eww, redit and twitter are disgusting places I don’t go.
